Microsoft Net Compact Framework 2.0 is an upgrade from Microsoft Net Compact Framework 1.0. Though there are many new changes, the main focus of the upgrade is aimed toward greater framework compatibility and support of device features. The Microsoft Download Center offers the free download as well as a full product summary and system requirements for the download. People using Windows 98 or ME might need to install "Microsoft Windows Installer 2.0" before installing Microsoft Net Compact Framework 2.0.
Instructions
1. Go to the "Microsoft Download Center," and select your Internet connection and preferred language. Click the "Download" button.
2. Click "Save File" and choose a download location, if applicable.
3. Open the setup file you just downloaded and click "Run."
4. Click "Next" on the welcome screen.
5. Click "I accept the terms in the license agreement" and click "Next."
6. Select "Complete" or "Custom," depending on your preference. Click "Next."
7. Click "Install." A progress bar will fill while copying new files and might take a few minutes, depending on your Internet connection.
8. Click "Finish."
