When you purchase a Nokia 6280 cellular phone, you'll find that the cellular carrier has locked the phone. This prevents the use of the phone with an alternative cellular provider's subscriber identity module. By unlocking your Nokia 6280, you remove this limitation from the phone, allowing you to use the phone with another cellular service provider.
Instructions
1. Call your cellular provider and request the unlock code for your Nokia 6280. Alternatively, you can purchase the unlock code from a business that sells unlock codes for mobile phones.
2. Remove the phone's back cover and battery and slide the SIM card out of the SIM card holder. Replace the battery and back cover. Power on your Nokia 6280 phone.
3. Enter "#pw+CODE+1#" using your phone's keypad. "CODE" in the sequence represents the unlock code from the carrier. Press the "*" key three times to enter a "P." Press the "*" key four times to enter a "W" and press the "*" key two times to enter the "+" symbol.
