Sync A Nokia 5800 With Google Calendar

Sync your Google Calendar events with your Nokia 5800.

If you have ever missed an event due to not knowing about them, syncing your Google Calendar with your Nokia 5800 can keep you up-to-date. Google Calendar allows users to create events, share calendars with family and co-workers, receive event notifications and sync them with devices such as cell phones and PDAs. If you own a Nokia 5800, you can sync your calendar with the "Mail for Exchange" application found on the Ovi store.

Instructions

1. Install the "Mail for Exchange" application on your Nokia 5800 (See Resources). The download is free and takes up 1.87 MB of your internal drive space.

2. Launch the "Mail for Exchange" application. Click the "Yes" option when prompted to set up a new sync profile.

3. Type "m.google.com" in the textbox under the "Exchange Server" section. Choose "Yes" for the section under "Secure Connections." Set the "Access Point" to "Connection."

4. Go to the "Credentials" tab located across the top of the application. Type in your Google email address and account password. Leave the "Domain" section empty.

5. Tab over to the "Calendar" tab. Choose the "Yes" option under the "Synchronize Calendar" section.

6. Log in to your Google Calendar account (See Resources) and create a test event.

7. Open the "Mail for Exchange" application to double-check whether the Google Calendar event has been synced on your Nokia 5800.
