Take Apart A Razr V3

The RAZR V3 is one of the best-selling models of flip phones manufactured by Motorola, and its slim shape allows it to be tucked into a pocket or purse without any hassles. However, if the phone should give you any problems, such as the keypad failing, display blanking out or anything similar, then you need to take apart the phone. This takes a few minutes to do and will void your warranty, but it will allow you to fix a variety of problems yourself.

Instructions

1. Turn over the phone so the battery cover is pointing up. Insert the flat end of the plastic pry bar into the slot at the top of the battery cover. Pop off the battery cover, then remove the battery using your hands. Slide the SIM card out of the phone with your finger.

2. Remove the two T6 screws to the left and right of the SIM card using the T6 Torx head driver. Separate the lower half of the phone using the plastic pry bar. Tilt the cover away from the phone to reveal the yellow ribbon cable at the bottom of the circuit board. Remove the ribbon cable from the circuit board using the plastic pry tool.

3. Push the tip of the push pin into the rubber tab located to the left of the clear plastic panel underneath the USB port. Pull the rubber cover off using the push pin.

4. Remove the tabs around the perimeter of the keypad using the flat-head screwdriver. Carefully remove the keypad from the phone. Remove the rubber dots in the corners by the display using the push pin. Pry off the plastic cover around the display using the plastic pry bar.

5. Unplug the white ribbon cable at the hinge using the plastic pry tool. Remove the two screws in the hinge of the phone using the T5 Torx head driver, then pull out the chrome hinge pins using your hands. Take out the display with your hands.
