Remove A Bmw 320 E90 Light Switch

The BMW E90 is the fifth generation of the BMW 3 Series, the automaker's entry-level sports coupe or sedan, depending on its configuration. The E90's light switch is mounted beneath the left dash air vent, directly to the left of the steering wheel. To remove the switch you simply remove the small panel from the dash, then then remove the switch from the panel. To reinstall the switch, or to install a new one, reverse the procedure.

Instructions

1. Turn off the BMW E90's engine and open the trunk. Locate the battery panel in the right side of the trunk and open the cover. Loosen the negative battery cable nut with the wrench and lift it to remove it from the battery.

2. Sit in the E90's driver side seat. Insert your trim stick into the upper-right corner of the light switch panel. If you're using a butter knife, wrap the blade with the cloth and insert it into the upper-right corner of the panel.

3. Pry downward to release the right side of the light switch panel, then move to the left side. Continue prying until the light switch panel is released. Examine the back of the panel.

4. Push the tab on the wiring harness and unplug it from the light switch.

5. Push the tabs attaching the light switch to the trim panel inward. This releases the switch. Pull the switch away from the trim panel.
