Install JAR files on your Nokia cell phone in a few simple steps.
Like many mobile devices, Nokia cell phones use the Java software platform by Sun Microsystems to run applications and games. JAR files are the primary format for Java programs and can be used on Nokia phones. However, you cannot use a JAR file on a Nokia phone without installing it on the device first. You can install a JAR file on a Nokia phone in a few steps.
Instructions
1. Open "Nokia PC Suite" on your personal computer. If you don't have the program installed on your computer, you can find it on the CD that comes with your phone.
2. Connect the Nokia phone to your computer using the supplied USB data transfer cable.
3. Select "PC Suite Mode" on your Nokia phone when prompted.
4. Click "Install Application" in the Nokia PC Suite to open the Nokia Application Installer.
5. Click "Browse" and locate the JAR file on your computer. Either double-click the file or click on the green arrow to begin the installation. Consult the progress bar to learn when the installation is complete.
