Delete Data On The Nokia E71

The Nokia E71 phone comes loaded with navigation capability, a music player, Ovi Store and a mobile browser. If you need to restore your phone for any reason, you have two ways of deleting the data from it. You may either choose to perform a soft reset or a hard reset. Nokia prefers that you perform the soft reset to a hard reset. A hard reset will wipe out all the information stored on your phone, including your contacts and account information.

Instructions

Soft Reset

1. Back up any imported data on your phone with a memory card or backup software. Perform this prior to deleting data from your phone.

2. Turn on your Nokia phone.

3. Enter *#7870# into your phone's keypad. This will reset the software and restore your phone back to its factory settings.

4. Enter the default security code "12345" when prompted. You now may use your Nokia phone.

Hard Reset

5. Back up any pertinent data on your phone.

6. Turn off your Nokia E71 phone.

7. Press 3, star (*) and the green button at the same time. This performs a hard reset on your device.

8. Press the "ON" button while holding the other buttons down. Release the "ON" button once you feel the phone vibrate.

9. Release the keys once you see your Nokia phone reboot.
