A new email notification appears on the home screen after Gmail configuration.
Configuring your Gmail on your Nokia E71 mobile phone gives you access to the account at any time from the handset. Once configured, your email is accessible through the Nokia Email application. You do not need the server settings for your account to set it up on your phone. The settings will be retrieved once you input your Gmail account information.
Instructions
1. Press the "Menu" key from the Nokia E71's home screen.
2. Highlight and click "Set Up Email," then click "Start Email Setup."
3. Click "Start," then click "Yes" to allow your phone to use its cellular data connection to configure your Gmail account.
4. Enter your Gmail address and password into the indicated fields, then click "Next."
5. Click "Automatic" if you want your phone to automatically retrieve your Gmail messages. If not, click "Manual" to retrieve the messages when you choose to.
6. Read the Terms and Conditions, then click "Accept."
7. Wait for your phone to obtain the server settings for the account. Click "OK" when the confirmation is displayed.
