Unlock A Nokia 3100

It is quite easy to unlock a phone to be used with another carrier's network.

Many wireless service providers who support GSM technology have their phones, such as the Nokia 3100, preprogrammed with an unlock code. This unlock code is a restriction from the original service provider, which prevents the mobile devices from being used on another service provider's network. However, there may be circumstances when mobile phone users wish to use their phone with another provider, such as international travels or if the current service provider does not offer a wireless phone that the mobile user likes. Fortunately, it is quite easy to unlock the phone to be used with another carrier's network.

Instructions

1. Contact the service provider for which the phone was manufactured to request the unlock code for the wireless device.

2. Ensure that there is no SIM card in the Nokia 3100.

3. Turn on the Nokia 3100. The phone will display "Insert SIM card."

4. Dial in the unlock code given by the service provider using the keypad on the Nokia 3100.

5. "SIM restriction off" will appear in the display.
