Unlock A Verizon Lg Phone

Verizon phones use code division multiple access (CDMA) technology to connect to the Verizon Wireless network. If you are leaving Verizon and want to take your phone with you, you have to take it to another CDMA network. To unlock a Verizon LG phone, you must flash the phone or install new software on the handset. Most CDMA networks offer this service in their stores for a small fee if you are planning to convert to their network.

Instructions

1. Log into the Verizon Wireless website (see link in the Reference section). Click the link that takes you to the Backup Assistant interface. Click "Manage My Contacts." Select the contact you want to save from your LG phone. Click "Export Contacts." Choose a destination location on your computer, set the file name and click "Save."

2. Choose the CDMA network you want to take your LG phone to. Contact its customer service center to ensure that your LG phone is compatible with the network. Locate a local store that performs flashing services for potential customers.

3. Take your LG phone into the store you found in Step 2. Explain that you currently have Verizon Wireless and now want to flash your LG phone to the new network. Let the clerk remove the Verizon Wireless programming from your LG phone, then install your new network's programming. Let the clerk then activate your LG phone to the new network. Pay for all services rendered.

4. Log into your new mobile company's website. Navigate to its mobile backup program. Open the import contacts feature. Follow the screen prompts to upload the file you saved in Step 1. Click "Sync" to synchronize the uploaded contacts with your LG phone's address book.
