Most cell phone manufacturers, including Sony Ericsson, Nokia and Samsung provide desktop applications for managing cell phone data on a computer. Some of these apps include Sony Ericsson PC Suite, Nokia PC Suite, ActiveSync (for Windows Mobile devices) and Samsung PC Studio. These applications are primarily used for synchronizing data between the handheld device and the computer. You can transfer your entire phonebook and back it up on the computer in case you ever lose or damage the device.
Instructions
1. Download and install your phone's managing application. You can install it using the CD that came with the phone. It is also available on your phone's manufacturer's website.
2. Launch the application after installation.
3. Connect your cell phone to the computer using its USB data cable or cradle (if available).
4. Click the "Contacts" tab on the application. The interface of each application is different, so choose an option that relates to transferring contacts to your computer. Most likely, you will find the option to "Synchronize" contacts, so choose this option.
5. Confirm that you want to synchronize phonebook data. All contacts saved on your phone will be transferred to your computer.
6. Disconnect the USB cable once the contact transfer is complete.
