Unlock Software On The Nokia N86

Unlocking the software on your Nokia N86 will allow you to use it with a SIM card from anywhere in the world.

The Nokia N86 is a quad band phone that was released in 2009. It features a slide-out keyboard and an 8 megapixel camera. You may have purchased this camera with a contract, which means it came with the software locked to a particular mobile network. This will prevent you from using your N86 outside of the country, without costly roaming charges.

Instructions

1. Type *#06# into the keypad of your phone and wait for the 15 digit serial number to appear. When it does, write it down.

2. Call the customer service department of your mobile phone service provider. You can often reach them by dialing *611 or 611 from your mobile phone. Ask them for a subsidy code. If you have been a customer for at least three months, they will usually give you a code. You will need to provide them with the IMEI.

3. Turn your phone off. Remove the SIM card from your phone and replace it with a new one from a different service provider from the one you currently use. Turn your Nokia N86 phone on. A message will appear telling you that you are on the wrong network. It will ask you to enter an unlock code.

4. Type the code that you received earlier into the keypad of your Nokia N86. Press "OK" and wait for the phone to restart. When it comes on, you will get a message that your phone is unlocked.
