Find Who Owns A Mobile Number

You can find out who owns a mobile number with a reverse lookup service.

Finding the owner of a mobile number is not a straightforward affair. Phone companies will not release the personal information of their customers unless you are a member of a law-enforcement agency. However, there are private databases that you can access for a fee. These are often used by private detectives and insurance investigators to find people. They are easy to use and reasonably priced, so that anybody can find the information that she needs.

Instructions

1. Find a website that offers reverse-lookup services. A few that you can use include PeopleEngine, the WhitePages and Intelius. These services charge between $1.99 and $9.95 per search in 2010. Some of them also offer unlimited searches for an annual fee.

2. Choose PeopleEngine. This site allows you to search for information on mobile phones, landlines, email addresses and Social Security numbers. It will also allow you to do a criminal background check. Just click on "Search By Phone" and type in the mobile-phone number that you are looking for. You will be provided with some free information such as the city that the phone is registered in. To get more details pay the fee. This data can include the name of the owner, his address and his mobile-phone service provider.

3. Use WhitePages, com. Enter the mobile phone into the search box and press "Find." You will receive general information about the phone number including the city and state where it is registered. Find the name of the number's registered owner by typing in the cell phone number on the "Lookup who owns (xxx) xxx-xxxx" field. This service costs $1.99 as of 2010. You can also opt to pay $2.99 per month to do unlimited lookups.

4. Use Intelius.com. There are two boxes that are labeled "People Search" and "Reverse Phone Lookup." Under the "Reverse Phone Lookup" tab, type the mobile number in the field provided and click "Search." After the page loads, you will see what information about the submitted number is available in the website's database. Information includes the owner's name, address, carrier, and even her average income and her home's average value. Click the "View Details" button to see two options on what package you wish to purchase. You can pay for one query for $4.99 or choose the "10 Pack Phone Report" package, which costs $39.95 as of 2010.
