Use A Voip Like A Cell

As early as 2005, tech savvy cell phone users were able to hack certain VoIP service applications for use on a select few phones with Wi-Fi and 3G capabilities. Since then, it has become increasingly simple to use a VoIP like a cell phone, with an ever growing list of cell phones running the major smart phone operating systems. With a simple download or subscription activation, users have the ability to use their VoIP services while on the go.

Instructions

1. Use Skype's mobile app. The VoIP services offered by Skype are well known in the industry. Skype also offers the biggest list of compatible phones and operating systems. With a simple download and install, the user may access their VoIP service account while connected to 3G or Wi-Fi networks. Because Skype is also one of the largest computer-based VoIP services, users may make free calls to computers connected to the Skype network. Low cost and free calling plans are also available through various pricing options.

2. Use Fring to make VoIP calls from a cell. The Fring service is similar to other popular VoIP networks, such as Skype, in that you may make free calls to other members connected to the network. These calls may be made mobile-to-mobile exclusively via VoIP, while connected to 3G, 4G or Wi-Fi. Fring also offers low cost solutions for calling regular phone numbers that are not connected to the network. As of April 2011, Fring is available on the iPhone, Android phones and select Nokia models.

3. Use JaJah to make a VoIP call. The JaJah VoIP service is web-based and does not require an installed application or connection to Wi-Fi or 3G. Instead, the service requires the user to call a special access number, and then enter the destination number. JaJah places a call to the destination number and connects the two parties via VoIP. This is extremely handy when traveling in areas that have spotty 3G coverage or non-existent Wi-Fi connections. Because it is web-based, JaJah may be used with any cell phone.
