Set Up A Voice Mail

A new message on a landline phone is indicated by an interrupted dial tone.

Voice mail is a standard feature for both landline and mobile phone users. With voice mail, you do not need to answer every call. If you ignore a call or are unable to answer it, a caller can leave a message that you can retrieve later. You must set up voice mail for callers to use it. This is accomplished from your phone.

Instructions

1. Dial your telephone number from the phone with the voice mail feature.

2. Listen for the voice mail system greeting and press the "*" key. Depending on your voice mail provider, you may need to press the "#" key to access the voice mail system.

3. Enter a password to be used to access your voice mail in the future. Depending on your voice mail system, you may be able to select up to 15 digits. Re-enter the password to confirm your selection.

4. Record your voice mail greeting. Re-record your greeting if you are not satisfied. Wait for confirmation that the voice mail was set up properly.
