A Comparison Of The Nokia N95 And The Nokia E71

Nokia's N95 and E71 support Wi-Fi.

Nokia released the N95 cellphone in 2007, and the E71 appeared in 2008. The chunky N95, featuring a two-way slider design, 5-megapixel camera and good video capability, was hailed by PC Magazine as the "most powerful multimedia phone in the USA." With its full keyboard, the slim E71 offers a BlackBerry-like design for easy messaging. Both phones use the Symbian operating system, which Nokia announced in 2011 it will abandon in favor of Windows Phone 7.

N95 Features

The N95 has a dual-slider design, with the keypad sliding from the bottom of the phone, and media player controls emerging from the top. The phone's 5-megapixel camera was a standout feature at the time, offering 2,592 x 1,944 pixels resolution for photos, and standard definition video at 640-x 480 pixels, recorded in the MP4 format. The integrated music player supports MP3, WMA, W4A, AAC, AAC+ and eAAC+ files, and the phone includes stereo speakers and an FM tuner. The N95 supports Wi-Fi 802.11b/g and stereo Bluetooth. The phone includes a Web browser and supports POP3/IMAP email service and GPS.

Unlike the N95, the E71 includes a full QWERTY keyboard that is centered around a four-way toggle surrounding a large "Select" key. The phone provides email support for Microsoft Exchange Server, POP3, IMAP and SMTP accounts. Users can edit Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents with the included Quickoffice suite. The E71 includes an FM radio, and its music player supports the MP3, WMA, ACC, AAC+ and eAAC+ formats. GPS and stereo Bluetooth headsets are supported. The Web browser provides YouTube and Flash support. The 3.2-megapixel camera supports 2,048 x 1,536 pixels resolution for photos and 640 x 480 pixels video capture, although only at 22 frames per second.
