Master Reset A Nokia E71x

Nokia E71X users who have decided to get rid of their phones have the ability to delete all of their personal information and return the phone to the factory settings. The E71X smartphone, which runs on the Symbian operating system, has a master reset function to delete all of its data. The master reset is also useful for those who have exhausted all other troubleshooting options for fixing problems with their phones. Resetting the E71X will return the phone's software to its factory condition when it first came out of the box.


Instructions


1. Press the left soft key under the word "Menu" to open the main menu. The soft keys are the two buttons under the left and right corner of the screen with a - on them. The buttons perform the function written above them on the screen.


2. Highlight "Settings" using the square scroll key in the middle of the phone and directly under the screen. Press down on the scroll button to open the "Settings" menu.


3. Select "Profiles" and then "Offline." A window will pop up on the screen with "Activate" and "Customize" as options.


4. Highlight "Activate" and press the scroll key to place the phone in airplane mode.


5. Push the "Home/Menu" button, the button with the symbol of a house it below the left soft key, to return to your home screen on the Nokia E71X.


6. Enter *#7370# using the phone keypad. The message "Reset all phone settings? Phone will restart" will appear on the screen.


7. Press the left soft key under the word "Yes" and then enter the lock code for your device in the "Lock Code" pop up box. If you have not changed the lock code, enter "12345."


8. Push the left soft key under "OK" to master reset your phone. The Nokia E71X will shut off and turn on again by itself.
