Do A Symantec Security Check Without Java

Symantec Security Check is an online utility that can be used to check your computer for viruses and online susceptibility. Your computer should be connected to the Internet for this purpose. No additional software, including Java, is required to be installed. The whole process of scanning will take some time depending on your Internet speed.


Instructions


1. Navigate to the Symantec Security Check website.


2. Click to select your operating system on the Symantec Security Check web page that opens (for example, Windows Vista).


3. Click to select the Web Browser that you are using (for example, Internet Explorer 5 or above) and then click "Continue."


4. Click "Start" below Security Scan to check how secure your computer is from online threats like hackers. To check for viruses, click "Start" below Virus Detection.


5. Click the "I accept" radio button on the End-User License Agreement web page and then click "Next." Security Scan or Virus Detection process will start as selected by you in the previous step.
