Install Maps In A Tomtom Navigator

TomTom's line of GPS devices and products are designed to aid drivers with navigation instructions to almost any destination across North America. Many GPS devices, such as the TomTom Navigator, also contain features such as media players, hands-free calling and a points-of-interest database that contains locations such as lodging and gas stations. Update maps include improvements to TomTom's features. Update and install these maps using the free TomTom HOME software included with your GPS.

Instructions

1. Run the TomTom HOME software on your computer, and connect the TomTom device to the computer using a USB cable.

2. Click "Update My Device" in TomTom HOME. The updated maps you have purchased are displayed. Click on the check box next to the updated map.

3. Click on "Update and Install." The updated map begins transferring to the TomTom. When the transfer is complete, click "Done."

4. Click the "Eject" button in TomTom HOME to allow the device to safely disconnect. Remove the device from the computer.

5. Switch maps on your device by tapping "Change Preferences," then "Manage Maps" and "Switch Maps." Choose the map you would like to switch to.
