Make free international phone calls on your computer.
Thanks to advancements in Voice Over IP (VoIP) technology, which uses your existing Internet connection to plug you into a telephone network, it is now possible to make international calls online at no cost. Making these calls in some cases will require downloading and installing free software on your computer, which doesn't take long. Check the details of the software you download for compatibility issues and to find out if there are any time limits or other restrictions on international calls.
Instructions
Skype
1. Go to Skype.com and click "Get Skype." To make free international calls, you must call someone who also has Skype on their computer. Click the button (Windows, Mac OS X, Linux) to download the version compatible with your computer, then click "Download Now."
2. Click "Save file" when the window opens, then click the Skype file in the Downloads window.
3. Open Skype and enter the Skype contact name of the person overseas you wish to call. Click the green "Call" button to call them. The person you are calling must be at their computer to answer, and the international call will be free.
Evaphone
4. Go to Evaphone.com and consult the list of free international VoIP calls to check on the time limit on free calls for the country you wish to call.
5. Go to the homepage and choose the country you want to call from the dropdown menu.
6. Enter the phone number in the format show below the dropdown menu into the field using the keypad on the screen, then click the green "call" button. Your call will be free up to the time limit you found in Step 1.
