See The Person You Are Talking To On Skype Mobile

One main feature of Skype is the ability to have a video chat with another Skype user. Skype mobile has many of the same features as Skype for the computer, but video chat is only available for certain types of phones. Skype mobile can be installed on some types of smartphones, including the iPhone and Android phones.

Phones With Skype Video Chat

Not all phones that can download Skype mobile can use video chat. At the time of publication, only Android phones and the iPhone can use video chat. For an up-to-date list of phones that can use video chat, go to the Android Market website, search for the Skype app, and then click on "What's New" on the Skype app homepage. You can also use this link: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.skype.raider&feature=search_result

Download Skype Mobile

Skype mobile can be downloaded from the Android Market, iTunes, BlackBerry World and the Skype website. To download Skype from Skype's website, open your phone's browser and go to m.skype.com. You can also go to http://www.skype.com/intl/en-us/get-skype/on-your-mobile/skype-mobile/ on your computer, enter your phone number, and click "Get Skype mobile." Skype will send a text to your phone with a link to install Skype mobile.

Get a Skype Notification

Skype is making video chat available on more phones in the future. To get a notification when Skype video chat is available on your phone, go to http://www.skype.com/intl/en-us/get-skype/on-your-mobile/skype-mobile/reminder. Enter your name, email and wireless carrier. Press "Submit."

Start a Video Chat

On the Skype mobile homepage, touch the "Call Phones" icon. To start a call on Skype mobile, touch the name of a contact in your contact list. Touch the button featuring a video recorder to start a video chat. You will see a video appear on your phone screen with the face of the other person.
