Change the phone number of your Nokia TracFone cell by calling the company.
TracFone is a prepaid cell phone company that gives its customers the opportunity to have cell phone service without being strapped with contracts or high bills. They offer many different phones, including various Nokia models. TracFone uses many popular cell phone provider's towers, so there is coverage throughout most of the United States. If you move, and want to change the phone number for your Nokia TracFone, you will have to contact the company by phone. It isn't possible to change your phone number online.
Instructions
1. Obtain the SIM card number and serial number from your cell phone. Slide the battery cover off and remove the battery. The SIM card number is printed on the SIM card itself, and the serial number--or IMEI number--is printed on the sticker inside the battery compartment. The TracFone representative will not be able to change your phone number without this information.
2. Contact TracFone customer service. Their toll free number is (800) 867-7183. Call this number from a land line phone, or a cell phone other than the one you're trying to change the number of.
3. Follow the prompts to reach the technical support department. Press "1" or "2" to choose either an English or Spanish speaking representative, and then press "1" followed by "4." This will direct you to a technical support representative.
4. Tell the representative that you want to change your phone number. He will ask you a series of questions regarding your cell phone, including the SIM card number, the serial number and your current phone number. Follow the representative's instructions and wait for him to tell you that your new phone number is active.
