Verizon phones have a lock code for security purposes.
Verizon cellular phones all come with a security lock, preventing anyone without the code from accessing selected features. The user can set custom parameters for the security lock, from being required only to access security and privacy features to being needed to make an outgoing call. You can attempt to unlock your Verizon phone with two different codes. If they do not work, you'll have to take it to an authorized dealer.
Instructions
1. Access a feature on the phone that requires a security code, or go to "Settings" and "Tools" followed by "Security."
2. Enter the last four digits of your phone number. If the phone you're attempting to unlock is registered to that number, it will unlock. If not, try the code in Step 3.
3. Key in "1234" and press "OK." This is sometimes a factory default setting for unlocking a new phone. If neither of these codes work, you'll have to take it to a Verizon dealer and verify account information with them before unlocking and resetting the code for you.
