Connecting your Nokia 6102i with the PC is a straightforward task. You just have to use the data cable that came with the phone. After making the connection, you can use the phone with a number of PC connectivity and data communications applications. You can exchange content between both devices, such as songs, images, contacts and to-do notes. You will need Nokia PC Suite on the computer to accomplish all this.
Instructions
1. Download Nokia PC Suite if necessary and install it on your computer. Nokia PC Suite also comes in a CD with the Nokia 6102i when purchased.
2. Connect the phone to the PC using the CA-42 data cable that came with the phone. Just hook one end to the PC's USB port and the other end to the phone.
3. Select "Nokia Mode" when your phone asks you to select the transfer mode.
4. Wait for Nokia PC Suite to pop up on the computer screen. It launches automatically when the connection establishes.
5. Select a task you want to perform from the Nokia PC Suite window; for instance, you can select "Synchronize" to keep your contacts, calendar, notes and other things up-to-date on both your PC and the phone, and you can select "Manage Files" to use your computer's screen for browsing and managing the contents of your cell phone (such as ring tones, songs, images, etc.).
6. Disconnect the USB connection once you're done.
