Get Maps On A Garmin Mobile

Garmin's GPS products are designed to assist travelers in staying on time en route to their destinations. Garmin also provides Garmin Mobile for smartphone customers. As of October 2010, BlackBerry owners could purchase Garmin mobile for $99.99 and no subscription fee. Garmin Mobile is available for BlackBerry device users with and without built-in GPS capabilities. Garmin also has a mobile phone specifically made for the brand, as well as a Garmin Mobile Laptop.


Instructions


1. Login to your myGarmin account (See References). Search for the "Find Maps Update" command in your device menu. You choose the device you wish to update and install the communicator plug-in, if you don't have this already.


2. Click myMaps from the menu to display the available map bundles for your device. Available updates to your device will be confirmed with the display of "Update Available" on the screen.


3. Click "Update Available" to view the options for your device updates. Accounts eligible for a free upgrade will also see "Free Update Available" as a button on the menu screen.


4. Click "Add to Checkout" to bring the desired update to the checkout processor. Follow onscreen instructions for checkout processing.


5. Connect your Garmin device to the computer and log into myGarmin again. Your myGarmin account should display notifications of new upgrades that were purchased for your account and ready to download.


6. Click "Order now" in the home tab and proceed to Step 3 to retrieve a free update. Click "Add to Device" in the home tab and proceed to Step 4 to retrieve recently purchased updates.
