Tracfone activation can be done entirely online.
A TracFone purports to "put you in control." The TracFone is a prepaid wireless service where you do not have to worry about contracts, bills or other surprises. You simply purchase a phone and some minutes, and then activate the phone for use. Activation can be easily accomplished following a few simple, guided steps on the TracFone website.
Instructions
1. Go to the "Activate Phone" page on the TracFone website. This is accessible from the home page by clicking "Activate Phone, Add or Buy Airtime" on the upper-right side of the page, and then clicking "Activate/Reactivate Phone."
2. Select the type of activation you require. If this is your first phone, you would select the first option, "Activate my TracFone with a new number..." You may also transfer numbers from another TracFone or cellular provider.
3. Click the brand of your cell phone under "Tell us about your New TracFone's brand and model," and then click the model that corresponds to the one you purchased. Click "Submit" to continue.
4. Log into your account or click "Register" to register a new one. Most people will need to register a new account.
5. Enter your personal information on the "Create Account" page. You will also need to enter specific details regarding your phone. The TracFone's serial number can be found on the TracFone's prepaid menu, but you can click "Help" for specific instructions for your particular phone. Since you have not activated your phone, you should check "I don't have a phone number yet" under "TracFone Telephone Number." You can also assign an optional nickname for your phone to easily reference it, if you have multiple phones.
Click "Submit" to complete activation. The website will guide you if you have any further questions or special instructions related to your phone.
