Reinstall Microsoft Works Word Processor

Reinstall Microsoft Works on your computer.


The Microsoft Works word processor is a program that is usually pre-installed on Windows computers. It is similar to Microsoft Word, which comes with Office. The word processor that comes in the Microsoft Works suite that also includes spreadsheet, database and calendar programs. If there seems to be a problem with the word processor, a good step to take is to remove and reinstall the program. This can fix a problem with error messages or a corrupt application.


Instructions


1. Click the "Start" button in Windows then click "Control Panel."


2. Click "Add or Remove Programs" or the equivalent, depending on your version of Windows.


3. Scroll through the list of programs installed on your computer. Click "Microsoft Works" and select "Uninstall" to remove it. Follow the instructions on the screen to remove the Microsoft Works suite. You will need to remove and reinstall the entire suite in order to fix the word processor.


4. Reboot the computer then put the Microsoft Works CD in your CD drive. Follow the instructions to reinstall the suite.
