Disassemble A Motorola Razr2 V9

The Razr2 V9 is a flip phone manufactured by Motorola and is primarily available on Verizon's wireless network. It features a large TFT display screen, a removable MicroSD card and runs on Verizon's 3G network. If you plan to repair or replace parts on your Razr2 cell phone, taking it apart is a necessary step. If you plan to do this procedure yourself, remember that it will void Verizon's service warranty.

Instructions

1. Hold down the power button for a few seconds until the phone shuts down. Pull the flip screen closed, and place the phone on a flat work surface.

2. Slide off the back battery cover, lift the phone's battery out of the compartment and set it to the side. Use a Torx T8 screwdriver to remove the screws fastening the phone's back panel in place. Carefully lift the back panel off the phone to reveal the internal circuit board.

3. Loosen all visible Torx screws that fasten the circuit board inside the phone. Disconnect all cables from the visible side of the circuit board. Carefully lift the circuit board out of the phone's casing, and disconnect the LCD video cable from the opposite side of the circuit board. Store the removed circuit board in a static-resistant plastic bag.

4. Place the phone face up and pull open the flip screen. Peel away the plastic cover on the front side of the display screen. It is held in place by double-sided tape, so it is easy to remove.

5. Loosen the Torx screws fastening the display screen's metal frame in place. Carefully lift the frame off the front side of the screen. Grasp each side of the LCD screen, lift it up out of the phone slightly and disconnect the video cable from the bottom of the screen.
