Get Rid Of The Service Provider Software On My Nokia E63

Use your Nokia E63 with any mobile provider.

Your Nokia E63 is a Global System for Mobile (GSM) communications phone, which means that you can unlock it with any network. Unlocking your phone removes your current mobile provider's software from your phone and restores your phone for use with any other mobile provider. If you received the phone from your current mobile provider, they may have it locked to their network. To unlock the Nokia E63, you need to obtain a special numerical code from your provider. Note that you will need to obtain certain information from your Nokia to get the right code for it.

Instructions

1. Dial *#06# in your phone's keypad. Press the "CALL" button. Write down the 15-digit International Mobile Equipment Identification (IMEI) number you receive.

2. Contact your current mobile provider. Verify your account information and ask for an unlock code. Provide your phone's IMEI number.

3. Write down the unlock code provided to you. Disconnect the phone call.

4. Turn off your Nokia E63. Remove the protective cover in the back of your phone. Take out the battery and the old SIM card.

5. Replace the SIM card with one from another network. Replace the battery and protective cover. Turn on your phone.

6. Enter "PW+(UNLOCKCODE)+1" where "UNLOCKCODE" is the numerical code you received. Wait for your phone to display "SIM Restrictions Off," which means you unlocked it.
