Cell phones usually come with a set of default wallpapers, color schemes and icon packages. However, most modern cell phones allow you to add customized themes to personalize the handset. Various online tools let you make personalized themes. Some websites specialize only in Sony Ericsson and Nokia themes, while others let you create themes for all cell phone manufacturers.
Instructions
1. Go to the website The Unlocker (see Resources) and select your cell phone model from the list. Upload images for different theme screens from your computer. Click each image tab, such as "Battery Strength," "Signal Strength" or "Idle Background" and click the "Browse" buttons under each tab. Pick the images from your computer for these screens. Click each tab under "Colors" and choose different color combinations for "Idle Signal Icon," "Idle Battery Icon," "Title Text in Idle" or "Navi Pane Text." Click "Create Theme" and save the theme file on your computer desktop.
2. Go to the website Zedge (see Resources), and click the "Sign Up" button. Enter the required information on the page and go to the "Theme Maker" page after registering. Select your handset model from the list. Click the "Choose File" button under "Background" and pick an image, which you want to use as the theme's background. Select a color combination for the rest of the theme by selecting the required number of colors, depending on the handset you have chosen. You can choose a style of icons from the template to bring a variety. Click "Download to PC" and save the theme file on the desktop.
3. Use the website Own Skin (see Resources) and click "Nokia & SE Themes." Click "Make a Theme" on the next page, and register by providing the required information on the page. Navigate to "Make A Theme" page after signing up. Click the "Choose File" button next to "Background" and "Wallpaper." Select different or the same images for both the theme screens and choose the color combinations you want for the theme. Select an icon pack from the templates. Click "Download" and save the theme on the computer desktop.
4. Connect the cell phone to the computer via USB data cable that came with the phone. If the phone prompts you to select a particular mode, choose "File Transfer" or "Storage Mode." Your computer will recognize the device and show the "Autoplay" window, from which you have to select "Open Folder to View Files." Double-click the "Themes" folder to open it and drag and drop the theme you saved on the desktop to this folder. Disconnect the cable.
