Connect a Plantronics Earpiece
The Plantronics Bluetooth cordless headset is a wireless earpiece designed to work with most types of cell phones. The device is worn around the ear and synchronizes with the cell phone to provide hands-free functionality. Setting up the Plantronics earpiece is a simple process that involves programming a cell phone to recognize the earpiece. When properly setup, you can use the earpiece to listen and speak without using the cell phone.
Instructions
1. Charge the earpiece if needed. If the charge is low, insert the plug of the AC adaptor into the earpiece and insert the other end of the adaptor into an electrical outlet. Allow the device to charge for two hours.
2. Remove the AC adaptor from the electrical outlet and the earpiece.
3. Turn on the Plantronics earpiece by pressing the round "Talk/On-Off" button located on the outside of the earpiece. Continue holding the button down for three to four seconds.
4. Turn on your cell phone per the manufacturer's instructions.
5. Place the cell phone within 1 to 2 feet of the Plantronics earpiece.
6. Press and hold the earpiece's "Mute" key located just below the "Talk/On-Off" button. Wait until the indicator light begins to blink and then set the earpiece aside.
7. Read the cell phone user guide to determine access your phone's pairing options. The pairing options are usually found in a sub-menu under the phone's Bluetooth options. Follow the instructions on the phone's screen to connect to the wireless device.
8. Enter the Plantronics four-digit passkey if the phone requires one. Not all phones require a passkey, but many do. The passkey is printed on the Plantronics packaging that came with the earpiece.
9. Wait approximately 30 seconds after setting up the pairing options on the phone. You will hear a beep from the earpiece and indicator light will go off.
10. Make a phone call to ensure that the earpiece connection was successfully setup. Place the earpiece around your ear and dial the phone number from your cell phone.
