Use A Nokia 6300 With An At&T Provider

Unlock your Nokia 6300 so you can use it on the AT&T network.

The Nokia 6300 is a cellphone that was released in 2007. Although you may have obtained this phone from a network provider other than AT&T, you can still use it on the AT&T network. The Nokia 6300 operated on the GSM network, which means that it can work on dozens of different service providers throughout the world, including AT&T. There's a relatively simple process called SIM unlocking that allows you to do this.

Instructions

1. Get your IMEI number by typing "*#06#" into your Nokia 6300's home screen. Write down the 15-digit number that appears on the screen.

2. Call your service provider's tech support department and request an unlock code. Be ready to give the customer service rep your name, email address and mobile phone number. If the representative refuses to give you an unlock code, you can purchase one from a remote unlocking site, such as Mobile Unlock Solutions, Mobile 2 Mobile or Unlocking.

3. Turn off your Nokia 6300 and remove its SIM card (located beneath the battery). Turn the phone back on with no SIM card installed in it.

4. Enter "#pw+unlock code+1" into the keypad (where "unlock code" represents the unlock code that you received in a previous step). Press the "*" button twice to get the "+" symbol. Press the "*" button three times to get the letter "p." Press the "*" button four times to get the letter "w." The phone will display a message that says "SIM Restriction Off."

5. Turn off the phone and insert your AT&T SIM card. Turn the phone back on. You're now ready to make and receive calls on the AT&T network.
