Change A V6 Vodafone'S Settings To Rogers Canada

Although you may enjoy subsidized prices on mobile handsets when you purchase from a particular wireless network provider, you also get restricted from accessing some features on the phone when using SIM cards from other networks. With Vodafone's Motorola V6 mobile handset, the default settings are preconfigured for internet access. However, in order to use Rogers, Canada settings on the V6 handset, you will have to change Vodafone's default settings.


Instructions


1. Turn off the phone and remove the back cover of the V6 phone. Take out the Vodafone SIM card from the SIM card slot. Insert the Rogers SIM card and switch your phone on.


2. Go to the Menu screen on your handset and select "Web Access." At the "Web Access" menu, go to the "Web Sessions" option and select it. Scroll down to "New Entry" and choose that option.


3. Enter "GoRogers" at the "Name" field. Then choose a homepage address and type it at the "Homepage" field. For example, "wap.google.com".


4. Scroll to the "Service Type" field and enter "HTTP." At the "Proxy/IP" and "Port" fields, type "010.128.001.069" and "80" respectively. Also, in the subsequent "Service Type 2," "Proxy/IP" and "Port" fields, type "WAP Secure," "010,128.001.069" and "9203" respectively. Select "10


minutes" at the "Time Out" field.


5. Type "goam.com" at the "GPRS APN" field. At the "Username and Password" fields, enter "wapuser1" and "wap" respectively. Choose "OK" to complete the settings.


6. Go back to the "Web Sessions" menu and set "GoRogers" as your default setting.
