Unlock the Nokia 3220b and use a SIM card from any wireless provider.
The Nokia 3220b phone works is available as a locked and unlocked cell phone. When the phone is originally built it is unlocked and can be used on any network, but when a cell phone company buys the phone it locks the phone so it only works with a a specific SIM card and on that company's network. Therefore, you are locked into purchasing a cell phone plan from one company. When you unlock the phone you can use a SIM card from any wireless network and can get the best rates no matter where you are in the world.
Instructions
1. Remove the SIM card from the Nokia 3220B and turn the phone on. Remove the battery and locate the SIM card underneath the battery. Slide the SIM card out and replace the battery.
2. Compose the message #PW+code+1#. Choose P by pressing the star button three times fast. Choose W by pressing the star button four times fast, and choose + by pressing the star button two times fast. The code is the 15-digit unlock code you will have obtained from a Nokia 3220b cell-phone provider.
3. See the message "SIM restriction off" if the code unlocked the phone. There are only so many times you can enter an unlock code. Make sure you enter the code properly.
