Get Rid Of The Voicemail Symbol On The Top Of The Lg Xenon

The LG Xenon alerts you to voicemail by displaying an envelope icon at the top of the screen. When a caller leaves you a voice message, the voicemail system sends a specially formatted text message to the phone. When you check your messages, the system sends another text message to the phone telling it to remove the envelope icon. If the phone doesn't receive the second message, the icon will remain even if you do not have any new messages in your voicemail box.

Instructions

1. Press the voicemail speed dial, or touch the envelope icon to call your voicemail box.

2. Press "1" to verify that you do not have any new messages in your voicemail box. The system will play the new and saved messages.

3. Return to the main voicemail menu.

4. Press "4" to open the personal options, then press "1" to toggle the message waiting indicator off.

5. Hang up the call, then dial your voicemail box again. Press "4," then "1" to toggle the notification on.

6. If the voicemail symbol does not go away, contact AT&T technical support. You can dial 611 from an AT&T phone, or dial (800) 331-0500 from another line.
