Some Apple software may require additional steps to remove from the computer.
FX Composer Effects is an application used to add visual effects to videos and photos. It is a popular application commonly used with Apple's iChat and Photo Booth software, creating fun effects for users to show their friends. Many users, however, have trouble uninstalling FX Composer Effects because it cannot be removed simply by dragging the application shortcut to the trash bin. The application can be removed relatively easily using a few alternate steps.
Instructions
1. Click on your "Home" shortcut located on your applications dock. A new file browser window will pop up.
2. Double-click on the "Library" folder, then the "Compositions" folder to view the contents of that folder.
3. Remove all the files in the "Compositions" folder that have a .DTS file extension. In the file browser window, click on the list format button next to the "Backward" and "Forward" navigation buttons to display the contents of the folder in a list form. Click on the "Type" column at the top of the list to sort your files by file type. Select all the .DTS files in the folder, then click and drag them into the Trash Bin.
4. Click and hold on the Trash Bin icon to bring up the options menu, and select "Empty Trash Bin" to delete all the files.
