Unlock A Motorola W385 To Work On Verizon

Buy a Verizon SIM card and get an unlock code to switch networks.

The Motorola W358 is a flip-top phone that was released in the year 2007. The phone comes with a USB port and Bluetooth 2.0. If you purchased this phone from an authorized mobile provider, it may be locked so that it will not work on other networks. If you would like to change your service to the Verizon network, then you will need to unlock it.

Instructions

1. Determine the serial code or IMEI code of the Motorola W358. You can see the serial or IMEI code displayed after you dial *#06# on the Motorola W358 phone's keypad. It is also printed on a sticker beneath your phone's battery.

2. Contact the customer service support center of your current carrier. Ask for a subsidy unlock code. They may require you to be a customer for at least six months before giving you the code. You will also have to give them your IMEI number. Not all service providers are willing to provide an unlock code. If your carrier is unwilling, you can purchase a code.

3. Go to an online store and purchase an unlock code from it. You can buy one from MotoUnlockNow, Foneszone and Unlocking. Provide the store with the phone's IMEI code. As of January 2011, a single unlocking code costs between $15 to $20.

4. Save the unlocking code when you receive it. It will be sent to you via email within a day or two.

5. Purchase a prepaid SIM card from Verizon or set up a regular monthly account. A prepaid card can be purchased for $30 or you can sign up for a regular pay-as-you-go account online.

6. Press the "Off" button of the Motorola W358. Open the cover of the battery slot and take out the battery. Remove the SIM card as well.

7. Insert the Verizon SIM card into the mobile phone. Turn the phone on.

8. Wait for the message prompting you to enter the subsidy unlocking code. Type the unlocking code in. Press the "OK" button and the phone will then restart. When it comes back on, you will see the Verizon logo at the top of your screen. This means the phone is unlocked.
