Remove The Screen On The E63

Most cellular phone manufacturers are now making smart phones. These are phones that come with more features than standard cell phones, such as touch-screen displays and Internet access. Nokia manufactures a smart phone called the E63, which is similar in appearance to the BlackBerry. If the front screen on your E63 is damaged you can remove and replace it yourself.

Instructions

1. Turn off the E63 and turn the unit over.

2. Press the latch at the back of the unit upwards to release the back panel from the unit and expose the battery.

3. Remove the battery and set it aside.

4. Use the screwdriver to remove the four screws on the corners of the rear of the unit.

5. Insert the tip of your case opening tool in the seam where the front panel meets the body of the unit. Work your way around the panel until it pops off. The LCD screen is now exposed.

6. Remove the screws on the upper corners of the LCD screen.

7. Lift the LCD screen up from the bottom and unplug the orange ribbon cable that connects the screen to the motherboard. Set the old screen aside.

8. Fit a new screen in the old one's place and plug in the ribbon cable. Replace the screen screws, front panel and rear screws.
