Save Your Music Into Ringtones

Any MP3 can be converted into a ringtone for a cell phone.

With cell phones so common, there are more websites selling ringtones you can download. Purchasing ringtones from these sites can be costly over time. It is also time-consuming to find a website that has the ringtone you want. The Tone Bee website allows you to make a ringtone from your own music without any special software. It is one of similar websites that essentially provide the same music editing and saving functions.

Instructions

1. Set up an account on tonebee.com. As of September of 2010, tonebee did not charge fees for services. Confirm the account confirmation through the email sent to you from the website.

2. Log in to your account on tonebee.com.

3. Click "Load your MP3."

4. Navigate to the MP3 file you'd like to make into a ringtone using the "Load" dialogue box.

5. Click the arrows next to "Start" and "End" to choose 30 seconds of the MP3 to use as the ringtone. Alternately, drag the orange selector to the point you want on the MP3 graph. This does not alter the original file on your computer.

6. Click "Save." Choose a save location on your computer for Tone Bee to place the new ringtone MP3. Click "OK."

7. Connect your cell phone to your computer using your cell phone's USB connector cable. Transfer the ringtone MP3 file onto your phone, according to the manufacturer's instructions for your specific make and model. You should be able to assign the ringtone MP3 for any group or individual, just as you would for any other ringtone.
