Install Jar On Cell Phones With Data Plans

JAR files are Java application install files often used for installing small programs on smartphones and handheld devices. To install a JAR file on your cellphone, you must have a data plan that permits you to download the JAR file. Next, you'll need to make sure your phone has Java installed and that the device can run the Java applications that you install. If Java is installed on your mobile phone, the device most likely will support a JAR installation.

Instructions

1. Open a Web browser on your cellphone and navigate to a free JAR download site such as GetJar.com.

2. Click on your phone model if the website does not identify your phone. A list of applications compatible with your cellphone will display. Each application listed is a JAR file.

3. Select the Java app that you want to download and click the "Download" option. Click "Yes" or "OK" for additional notifications about the installation. The JAR file is downloaded and the application is installed on your cellphone.
