Call Voicemail

There are several circumstances that could keep you from taking a phone call. Voicemail is a service that allows people to leave you a message without your needing a piece of additional equipment, such as an answering machine. If you are new to voicemail, you may be a little unclear on check messages left in your voicemail box. By following the steps below, you can call your voicemail and listen to messages left in the voicemail box.


Instructions


Using Your Phone


1. Turn your phone on if you're using your home phone.


2. Dial your phone number.


3. Listen to the recorded message.


4. Type in the password for your voicemail box. Listen to the next message carefully to know which button to press to listen to your voicemail.


5. Press the appropriate button to listen to your voicemail. At the end of the voicemail, another message plays with instructions for saving or deleting that message.


6. Hang up or press the "End" or "Talk" button to disconnect from your voicemail.


Using Another Phone


7. Turn the phone on if necessary.


8. Dial your home phone number. Allow the phone to ring until it goes into your voicemail box.


9. Press the "Pound" (#) key on your phone once you hear the voicemail notification or message. This must be done before the message ends or you have to disconnect and call again.


10. Enter your voicemail password when instructed to do so. Listen to the instructions for checking your voicemail messages.


11. Listen to the messages in your voicemail box. Follow the instructions given at the end of the message for saving or deleting that message. Hang up or press "End" or "Talk" to end the call and disconnect from your voicemail.
