Bluetooth capability is getting more common in laptops.
Windows 7's Internet Connection Sharing allows you to share a computer's Internet connection with other devices connected to it. Internet connections can be shared over Bluetooth wireless, a high speed, short range wireless protocol commonly used in cell phones, smart phones and PDAs. The computer sharing the Internet connection with other devices is called the host computer, and it will have to be configured before you can start sharing.
Instructions
1. Open the "Start" menu and select "Control Panel," then "Network and Internet," "Network and Sharing Center," and click the "Change adapter settings" link in the panel on the left.
2. Select and then right-click on the network adapter connected to your home network, and click "Properties." In most cases, this will be a different adapter from the one connected to the Internet.
3. Check the box beside "Allow others to allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection," then go to the "Networking" tab of the window.
4. Select "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" from the list in the middle of the window and click "Properties."
5. Check the "Obtain IP address automatically" radial button and click "OK."
6. Select "Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)" from the list and click "Properties," then check the "Obtain IP address automatically" button and click "OK." Click the "Close" button. Repeat steps 4 through 6 on the other computers in your network. Your Internet connection should now be available to the other computers in your network.
7. Go back to the main Control Panel screen and type "Bluetooth" into the search box in the top right-hand corner of the window. Click "Change Bluetooth settings" under "Devices and Printers."
8. Check the "Allow Bluetooth devices to find this computer" box, then click "OK."
9. Open the "Start" menu on the computer or computers you want to connect to the host computer and select "Printers and Devices."
10. Click the "Add a device" button near the top of the window. Windows looks for and displays other devices it can connect to, including other Bluetooth-enabled computers nearby.
11. Select the host computer and click "Next."
12. Enter the security passcode displayed on the host computer into the window that opens on the other computer, then click "OK" to finish setting up the connection. Repeat steps 9 through 12 on each computer you want to connect using Bluetooth.
13. Go back to the "Bluetooth Settings" window on the host computer and uncheck the "Allow Bluetooth devices to find this computer." Leave the "Allow Bluetooth devices to connect to this computer" box checked. Click "OK" to finish setting up the Internet connection sharing over Bluetooth.
