Change The Username On Your Sidekick Slide For A New Sim Card

The Motorola Sidekick Slide cellphone has a registration screen that you need to fill out when you first use the phone. If you have received the phone from someone who has already used the phone with his own information, you need to change the phone's username so that it is associated with your account and SIM card. Motorola did not include an option to delete the username on the Sidekick Slide; you need to contact T-Mobile, the Slide's carrier, to reset the username.

Instructions

1. Remove the battery from the back of the Sidekick Slide. Near the top of the battery compartment are slots for two types of cards: SIM and memory. The top slot is for the SIM card.

2. Pull the SIM card out of the slot.

3. Write down the IMEI number for your phone. The number is printed on a sticker in the battery compartment. IMEI numbers are unique to each phone. You'll need the number when contacting T-Mobile's customer support.

4. Contact T-Mobile's customer support at 1-800-866-2453 and inform them that you want the username reset on your phone. You'll need the phone's IMEI number as well as your account information.

5. Turn on the phone when you're told by the T-Mobile service representative. You're then taken to the registration page, which you can use to input your username.
