What Are The Tools That You Need To Use Skype

A headset will improve Skype call quality.

Skype is a tool that combines instant messaging and text messaging with audio and video features. After you download the program onto your computer, you can use it to talk online to other users, call phones and hold video chats. Skype is free to download and easy to use, and it requires only a few tools to work properly.

Software

Before you can use Skype, you will need to download the software from the Skype website, http://www.skype.com/intl/en-us/home. Install the program and create a Skype account. After that, Skype shows you a window that displays your contacts. From there, you can add friends, load your account with money to call or text and make calls. You can also download Skype onto an Internet-enabled cellphone and use it to chat or make calls when connected to wireless service.

Computer Hardware

The hardware you need to use Skype will depend on the way you want to use it. For text-based communication, you simply need a computer and a keyboard. To use the video calling feature, you can use an on-board webcam or install a peripheral webcam through a USB port. If you want to use the audio calling features, you will need speakers and a microphone.

Headset

The built-in microphone on your computer is usually suitable for calls, but it will pick up other noises besides your voice. For audio and video calls that require better quality, buy a headset with a noise-canceling microphone. The headset will allow only you to hear the person on the other end of the call and minimize background noises, which is useful if you are calling from a public location. If you are on a Mac computer, you will need to buy a USB headset instead of the standard PC version.

Internet Service

Because Skype uses the Internet to send instant messages, text messages and phone calls, you will need steady service. For chatting and sending text messages, you need only to have a basic Internet connection. If you plan to do video conferencing or long phone calls, either to other computers or to phones, the connection is crucial. Because phone and video calls use more bandwidth, the faster your connection is and the greater the download and upload speeds, the better the performance will be.

Make A Mobile Phone Cover

Mobile phones are small and can fit in the pocket or purse easily. However, with new phone models that have luxurious-looking finishes they also can scratch or bruise quickly. After paying for your phone you want to keep it in as good condition as possible. Buying a cover from a phone store or boutique can be quite costly. Try making a cover that reflects your personality and makes a statement that no store-bought cover could make.

Instructions

1. Find a sturdy fabric that will keep your phone from getting scratched in your pocket or purse. Use corduroy instead of something thin like cotton or chiffon.

2. Lay the fabric on a flat surface. If it has a print on both sides, it does not matter how you lay the fabric. If one side is printed while the other side is not, the printed side should face the work surface.

3. Place the your phone screen side down on the fabric. Trace around the phone with the chalk, leaving an extra 1/2 inch on each side for the hem.

4. Fold the fabric in half lengthwise. The tracing that you made should be on top of one side of the folded fabric. Cut along the chalk lines being careful to leave that ½ inch for hemming. When you are done, you will have two identical pieces.

5. Lay the pieces on top of each other with the printed or outer side facing in. Thread your needle with either matching thread or contrasting thread that complements the fabric.

6. Use a small running stitch 1/2 inch from the edges and sew the two pieces together starting on the upper right corner. Pass the needle in and out of the fabric and make sure that the stitches have the same lengths. You are only going to sew the two long sides and the bottom, leaving the top open.

7. Put the phone inside the case once you have sewn the last side. Check if the phone fits the case perfectly.

8. Tuck the edges of the top pieces over and hem them, as well.

9. Turn the case right side out. Stick your fingers into the corners to push the fabric corners out.

10. Decorate the case with trim, buttons or felt. Sew decorations on the case to secure them so that they will not fall out.

MP3 players allow you to watch videos as well as listen to music. These players aren't usually large enough to accommodate a DVD disk though. Unlock An Iphone For Boost Mobile

Unlock an iPhone for Boost Mobile

The Apple iPhone currently has an exclusivity agreement with a sole cellular carrier in the United States that essentially locks the phone at the time of its manufacture for use on that carrier's network. However, the iPhone is perfectly capable of being used on cellular networks with similar infrastructure when it is unlocked. Unlocking your iPhone can be a handy procedure to know if you wish to change cellular carriers, but retain your current phone, or if you are traveling abroad and want to use the SIM card from a cellular carrier that is based in another country.

Instructions

1. Use Blackra1n to unlock and jailbreak your iPhone in one fell swoop. Only a few steps are required to use this software utility to unlock your device. Upon starting the Blackra1n desktop program, you simply connect your iPhone to your computer using its USB cable and click the "Make it ra1n" button, which is the only interactive feature of the Blackra1n program. A few seconds later, your iPhone will automatically reboot and it will be unlocked.

2. The program Ultrasn0w unlocks your iPhone after you install it from the third party downloads and extensions manager named Cydia. After you jailbreak your phone, Cydia is automatically installed. Once you add the repository location for Ultrasn0w, you can download it to your phone as a package. It automatically installs itself after it has finished downloading and then prompts you to restart your phone, after which point you can use a Boost Mobile SIM card.

3. You can also have your iPhone unlocked by using iTunes, but it requires the participation of your cellular carrier to authorize the unlocking process. Your device's IMEI number, which serves as a unique identifier for your iPhone, is submitted by your carrier to Apple's servers. The next time you connect your iPhone to iTunes, the iTunes program will prompt you to install a new "carrier update," which will unlock your phone when it has finished installing.

Issues With Tracfones

While TracFone cell service is convient, consumers have reported several issues with the cell phone service.

TracFone, the sixth most-used cellular carrier in the United States, has over 15 billion users. It is a prepaid cellular service, which many people find useful. TracFones have no hidden costs or fees and do not require contracts or credit checks for activation of service. Despite the benefits of TracFone, several problems do exist with the phone and the service. Customers complain about activation problems, buying and adding minutes, and limited service areas.

Activation Problems

TracFone activation should work simply by visiting the website or calling TracFone customer care. TracFone buyers receive a code when purchasing the phone, and must enter the code into the phone during activation. TracFone users know their phone activation is complete when information about the number of minutes left and time of service left appears on the screen. TracFone users have reported several activation issues, including getting kicked off the toll-free customer service line repeatedly during the activation process, phones never actually becoming activated after following all of the steps, and needing to reactivate the same phone several times after buying it.

Buying and Adding Minutes

Owners of TracFones add minutes to their phones by calling customer service or by buying cards containing minutes and entering a code into the phone manually. Minutes purchased for TracFones do not expire, but users will need to pay for "service time" for the phone. For example, if an owner pays $20 for a 40-minute card, she may get 30 days of service time. When service time runs out, the phone cannot be used until more service time is purchased. Many customers have found that when they purchased more service time, their phones still did not work. Other problems arise when a customer attempts to upgrade his service before the service time runs out, but then uses up all of his minutes while waiting on hold for customer service to answer the call. Another problem with buying and adding minutes relates to customers buying minute cards and the codes on the cards not working. TracFone owners have found it nearly impossible to get refunds on these cards, or to get them activated by customer service.

Lack of Coverage

TracFone users also complain that their TracFones' service area is quite small. Many users find they are only able to use their phone within their own city, and traveling even one county over may cause the phone to lose coverage. TracFone advertises large service areas, but its phones are not international and do not work in Canada or Mexico -- even though both countries sell TracFones. TracFones also cannot dial long-distance without purchasing an expensive long-distance minute card.

Old Phone Models

TracFone offers older phone models for customers to purchase. Many cell users want touchscreens, smart phones or razor-style phones. Most of Tracfone's choices are limited to older flip phones or candy bar-style phones. The clunkiness of these phones makes the phones more difficult to use and often less portable.

Problems With An Lg Bluetooth Stereo Headset Hbs200

Introduced in 2007, the LG HBS-200 Bluetooth Headset allows users to wirelessly stream music from a cell phone. Despite its stylish design, durability and 33-foot range, the HBS-200 suffers from several issues including call quality, ease of use and cost.

Call Quality

Although CNET indicated great music quality, call quality lacks in certain conditions. Under ideal conditions, the call quality is solid, but callers reported "hissing" and "static" sounds in windy environments.

Controls

CNET says that although the controls are clearly marked, several of them are too tiny. The HBS-200's volume and play buttons are rather skinny and might be a problem for users with large hands. Reviews also say that the track shuttle slider control would be easier to use if it was equipped with a grip.

Cost

Reviews indicate that the HBS-200 was slightly expensive when it was released in 2007, retailing for $129.99. Despite the high cost of the headset itself, the HBS-200 was also available as part of Verizon's Music Essentials package in 2007. The $199.99 kit also included a Music Manager software CD, 4GB microSD card and USB cable.

Tracking A Cell Phone With A Sim Card Number

A SIM Card can serve as a GPS

A SIM (subscriber identification module) card is a memory chip that holds a variety of information pertaining to a cell phone, including text messages, the cell phone number and personal identity information. It allows a cell phone to get connected to a mobile network. The ability to use a SIM card with several phones--without having to contact a mobile network provider--makes it easier for thieves to use stolen phones by removing the current SIM card. However, the validation and encoding ability of a SIM card can help to stop your cell phone from being stolen and tack a lost or stolen cell phone.

Instructions

1. Try calling your cell phone. The call will provide a way for your mobile service provider to track the last known location.

2. Locate your International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) on the box in which your phone was delivered when you bought it. The IMEI number is used by the GSM network to identify valid devices, and therefore can be used for stopping a stolen phone from accessing a particular mobile network.

3. Contact your local mobile service provider and give it your account number and cell phone number. Ask your provider to furnish you with the SIM card number associated with your IMEI and cell phone number.

4. Ask your mobile service provider for assistance tracing the location of your SIM card. If your SIM card number no longer matches the phone number assigned to you or your IMEI, your mobile service provider will be able to trace the new cell phone number associated with the IMEI of your lost cell phone.

5. Contact your local police if you suspect your phone was stolen. Law enforcement is capable of blocking that mobile phone so that nobody can use it, or it can send SMS notification to your mobile phone if anyone turns it on with any SIM card.

Dku5 Compatible Phones

DKU-5 Compatible Phones

The DKU-5 is an older generation PC connectivity cable manufactured by Nokia. It is specifically used to connect Nokia mobile phones without USB support to computers and laptops. The DKU-5 cable is compatible with Windows 98/Me/2000/XP. Unfortunately, it has no support for Linux or any other OS other than Windows. DKU-5 compatible phones have a DKU pop-port on their sides which is used to connect the phone to a computer. The DKU-5 cable is only compatible with Nokia models 3100, 3200, 3220, 5070, 5100, 5140, 5140i, 6080, 6100, 6220, 6610, 6610i, 6800, 6810, 6820, 6822, 7200, 7210, 7250, 7250i, 7260, and 7360.

Advantages of DKU-5 Compatible Phones

The DKU-5 connectivity cable was the first to allow the creation of a solid bug-free interface between DKU-5 compatible mobiles and computers utilizing Nokia's award winning "PC Suite" software. With Nokia's PC Suite and a DKU-5 cable, you can transfer java games and applications from your PC to your cell phone.

From your PC, you can send text messages and update your contacts and phone settings. Additionally, you can transfer photos from the PC to the phone or vice versa. You may also back-up files from your phone onto your PC and then transfer them to another Nokia cell phone.

Disadvantages of DKU-5 Compatible Phones

The main disadvantage of DKU-5 compatible Nokia handsets is the absence of support for any non-Windows operating system, as a result, DKU-5 compatible handsets cannot be connected to any computer using a non-Windows OS like Linux. Moreover, the DKU-5 is a proprietary interface developed by Nokia and its specifications have not been released either to the public or to third party developers. As a result, it is impossible to develop any custom drivers and software applications for DKU-5 compatible Nokia phones.

Current Status

As of now, almost all handsets manufactured by Nokia are no longer compatible with the DKU-5 connecting adapter cable. Most Nokia phones are compatible to the new DKU-2 and CA-42 cables developed by Nokia. These cables offer multi-OS support.

What Is A Sim Card For A Cell Phone

A SIM card works as a memory device in a cellular phone.

If you purchase a cellular phone with a calling plan from a major service provider, chances are your phone will come with a SIM card. This card holds data for your phone and identifies your phone number, allowing it to work properly. A SIM card also keeps your phone linked to your service provider.

A SIM card works as a memory device in a cellular phone.

Definition

"SIM" stands for Subscriber Identity Module. Essentially, it provides the identity for your cell phone.

Phone Number

Your SIM card stores and identifies your phone's number. If you switch to a different cell phone model within the same service provider, you can install your old SIM card into the new phone and your number will remain the same.

Contacts

A SIM card can store up to 250 contacts, so if you store your address book information on your SIM card, you can transfer all of your contacts from phone to phone as well.

Service Provider

Your SIM card links your phone to your own service provider, and activates your phone for use with that provider. A SIM card for one provider will not work in a phone that was purchased from another provider.

Unlocked Phones

If you have an unlocked phone (not associated with any particular service provider), you can purchase prepaid SIM cards when you travel and your phone will always have a local number to the area you're in.

Unlock your phone for use overseas.

Since the Nokia E73 works with the Global System for Mobile communication network, you have the ability to unlock it with a Subscriber Identity Module card. Your mobile provider can help you through the process.

2. Contact T-Mobile. Ask the representative for an unlock code. Provide your phone's IMEI number and model number.

Free Java Games For W850i

Java-powered games are the most common format of games found on mobile phones, and most are also free to download. The Sony Ericsson W850i has many free Java games available for it, as it's considered to be one of the best phones for mobile gaming.

Super Mario Planet

"Super Mario Planet" can be downloaded via the Mobile Rated website (see Resources). "Super Mario Planet" is like the "Super Mario" games of old, a 2D side-scroller, except this time Mario walks on power lines while dodging increasingly harder obstacles.

The graphics are functional and are similar to some of Mario's first games, while sound is sparingly used, but it's catchy all the same. Gameplay is simple yet addictive and has a nice difficulty curve. With many levels to master, "Super Mario Planet" will keep gamers playing for quite a long time to come.

Resident Evil: The Missions 3D

"Resident Evil: The Missions 3D," a spin-off of the main "Resident Evil" series, can be downloaded via Mobile Games Arena (see Resources). It revolves around completing tasks, in mini-game-style, inside the Raccoon City Police Station.

These tasks can be anything from escaping the Police Station to killing all enemies or even saving hostages--quite a nice variety. The visuals are stunning for a Java mobile game, boasting 3D visuals close to the first-generation PlayStation games. Sound quality is also pretty good as well, with some nice gun and creature bursts of audio.

Crazy Taxi 3D

"Crazy Taxi 3D" can be downloaded with the link via the website Mobile 9 (see Resources). The "Crazy Taxi" series is a fast-paced game that has the player delivering and picking up passengers as fast as possible as he tries to make as much money as you can in the given time limit.

The transition to the mobile phone is impressive, with almost everything which made the others in the series so addictive and satisfying to play intact. With the city being rendered in 3D, the game certainly is easy on the eyes, and the sound can be toggled to include the music or sound effects, both are equally as good.

Put Games On A Nokia Ngage

The beauty of the N-Gage gaming system is that not only is it compact and conveniently accessible on your mobile phone, but you can also try out games for free before you buy them. Installing them is quick and easy, and there are hundreds to choose from. There are also some sites where you can get free games.

Instructions

Download and Install Games

1. Install games. Go to "My Games" and you'll see a handful of game logos that came pre-loaded but may need to be installed. If the game is grayed out it needs to be installed. Go ahead and click on it and it will ask you to confirm installation. You can choose whether to install the game into the mass memory or the device memory. Make sure to choose the device memory. Click "Next," agree on the terms and agreements and click "Next" again. The game will begin installing. This will take one or two minutes. Once it's completed click on "OK."

2. Start playing. If it is a trial game then it will only allow you to play the first level or two. After that you will need to purchase the full version.

3. Drag and drop games. If you have games that you have downloaded from the Internet to your computer you can move them to your phone by hooking up the USB cable that came with it and dragging and dropping the game files to the phone. Again make sure to put them in the mass storage area and not in the device memory. You can then follow the installation instructions from above.

4. Use your voucher to play new games. Some Nokia phones come with a game voucher that has a free code to activate one of your trials into a complete game. To use your voucher, just scratch off the gray covering and launch the game indicated on your voucher. Go to the purchase screen. Put the code into the box. The first number in a code is usually a zero. After it has been activated you'll have full access to the game.

5. Find more games. Go to the Showroom tab choose "Options" and click "Update Now." This will give you a list of the latest N-Gage Games.

Delete Voicemail On A Tracfone Cell Phone

Cell phone service can cost upwards of $75 per month, not counting the initial cost of the phone. You are usually locked into the same provider for 1-2 years. Tracfone avoids these expensive commitments by offering prepaid service. You buy a set amount of minutes and then when you have used them up, you can simply buy some more. Though some phone operations, such as deleting voicemail, can use up minutes, a way around this exists.

Instructions

1. Delete voice mail by going through the keypad on your cell phone. The actual procedure depends on the kind of cell phone that you own. For example, on the Nokia 1100, hold down the "1" key while you are on standby. Tracfone connects you to your voicemail, where you can follow spoken menu instructions to listen to your voicemail. After you hear the voice message, you're asked if you want to delete your recordings.

This is not recommended, because connecting in this way uses up your minutes even if you just want to listen to them.

2. Use your landline phone to delete messages if you want to avoid using your Tracfone minutes. Turn off your cell phone so it doesn't ring and then call your cell phone number from a landline.

3. Press the "*" (star) key as soon as you hear your voice mail greeting. Then enter your password number and press the "#" (pound) key.

4. Listen to the instructions for accessing your voice mail, which can vary slightly depending on the phone you have. You are told the number of new and old messages you have, listen to them and store or delete them. Press the number for listening to the message to hear it, and then the number for deleting.

5. Hang up your landline when you are finished and then turn on your cell.

The Nokia 3220 is a compact, no-nonsense cell phone manufactured for use with a variety of cell phone service providers including AT&T, Cellular One, T-Mobile and XE Mobile. The phone comes equipped with many features including pre-loaded Java games, a camera capable of recording photographs and video, and is enabled for instant messaging. Though the phone may look quite basic, there are a variety of tips and tricks you can use to get the maximum amount of fun and performance out of your phone.

Ringtones and Sound Effects

The Nokia 3220 comes equipped with pre-programmed ringtones and sound effects. Additionally, you can easily connect your phone to your cellular service provider's online store to download popular ringtones and sound effects for a small fee. The Nokia 3220 also features a voice recorder, with up to five minutes of recording capabilities. Conversations, memos or sounds can be recorded and then set as your ringtone through the "Tools" menu of the phone.

Phone Appearance

The Nokia 3220 phone is designed to be easy on the eyes, and the option for selecting desktop background themes allows the user to quickly and easily apply appealing color schemes and images. These themes can then be coordinated with your ringtone through the "Tools" menu bar to make a complete aesthetic package. Additional backgrounds and themes can be downloaded online. Using your contacts list, you can create different contact groups, then apply a specific ringtone and lighting pattern that the phone will perform upon calling.

Connecting the Nokia 3220 to the Computer

The Nokia 3220 phone can be connected to your home PC to transfer photos and music from one electronic device to the other. Nokia PC Suite is a free software available for download online (see Reference 2) which allows your phone to interface with your computer. The phone must be connected via USB cable or Bluetooth, both of which are sold separately from other phone accessories. Additionally, if you use a wireless Internet service, you can program your Nokia 3220 phone to use that Internet connection rather than paying for a 3G network from your Internet service provider.

Gaming

Most Nokia 3220 phones come equipped with various Java-based games that can be accessed through the "Applications" menu of your phone. Additional games can be downloaded on your computer and then transferred to your phone, or through your cellular service provider's online store, accessible from your phone in the "Applications" menu. All games must be J2ME Java-compatible to work on your phone.

Set Up A Voice Mail

A new message on a landline phone is indicated by an interrupted dial tone.

Voice mail is a standard feature for both landline and mobile phone users. With voice mail, you do not need to answer every call. If you ignore a call or are unable to answer it, a caller can leave a message that you can retrieve later. You must set up voice mail for callers to use it. This is accomplished from your phone.

Instructions

1. Dial your telephone number from the phone with the voice mail feature.

2. Listen for the voice mail system greeting and press the "*" key. Depending on your voice mail provider, you may need to press the "#" key to access the voice mail system.

3. Enter a password to be used to access your voice mail in the future. Depending on your voice mail system, you may be able to select up to 15 digits. Re-enter the password to confirm your selection.

4. Record your voice mail greeting. Re-record your greeting if you are not satisfied. Wait for confirmation that the voice mail was set up properly.

Buy A Used Or Refurbished Cell Phone

A used phone may cost less, but have other associated risks.

Though you can always buy a new cell phone from a reputable dealer, if you want to save some money, buy a phone that's either used or refurbished. These phones are available at some retailers, but are most commonly offered for sale on the Internet. Because you can't test the phone when you buy online, make sure to scrutinize the ad -- and the seller -- carefully.

Instructions

1. Buy the used or refurbished cell phone at a phone retailer, if possible, so that you can return it if there are issues. While you'll likely get the best deal online, you may not be able to get a refund for your purchase if the phone doesn't work as described.

2. Seek out a vendor with the high level of customer satisfaction if you're buying a phone on a site such as eBay. View the vendor's feedback and feedback comments to get an accurate idea of how his other transactions have gone. Avoid dealing with him if people have posted complaints or poor feedback.

3. Ensure that the phone being offered by the vendor is suitable for your needs. For example, if you have a SIM card from another phone that you'd like to use on the phone you purchase, make sure that it's compatible with it.

4. Browse the photos of the phone carefully, if buying online, and be skeptical of the reason why the seller is selling the phone. For example, if she says she's upgraded to a new phone and is therefore selling her old one, but says the same thing in multiple other listings, she's being dishonest right off the bat.

5. Contact the seller to ask questions and see additional photos of the cell phone. Ask to see copies of any official documentation such, as a sales receipt, to show that the phone is not stolen and is authentic. If the seller is honest, he should have no issue with providing this information for you.

Find The Unlock Code For A Motorola Razr P2k

Unlock your Motorola RAZR

The Motorola RAZR came out in 2004 and was one of the first ultra-thin phones that had a sleek design while still being functional. If you have one, you may have purchased it with a two-year plan, which means it may have been locked by your mobile service provider. If so, it is likely locked, so you won't be able to switch to a different cell phone service. If you would like to change companies, you will need to unlock it.

Instructions

1. Find the IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number for your Motorola RAZR by dialing "*#06#" on your phone's keypad (without quotes). This is a 15- to 17-digit code that your mobile service uses to identify your phone. Another way to find the number is to remove the battery and find the sticker beneath it with the IMEI number.

2. Find an unlock code for your phone. There are some services that provide codes specifically for Motorolas; some of these include MotorolaUnlock, MotoUnlockNow and GlobalUnlock.com. As of 2010, most of these services charge between $9.99 and $29.99 for an unlock code.

3. Key in your phone's IMEI number in the drop-down box on the website. Enter "Motorola" for the make of the phone and "RAZR P2k" for the model of the phone, along with your country of residence and your mobile phone's carrier. You will also need to enter a valid email address and payment details. Most services take PayPal or a credit card.

4. Log in to your email and retrieve the unlock code. It usually arrives within 48 hours.

5. Turn off your phone and remove the SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card by sliding the back cover off and removing the battery. Take out the white rectangular card in the metal gate. This is where the phone's memory is kept.

6. Put in a SIM card from a different carrier than the one that you currently use. If you do not have one, borrow one from a friend or purchase a prepaid card from a convenience store.

7. Put the battery back in and turn on your phone. Your Motorola will ask you for a "Subsidy Code." Key in the unlock code that you received in the email into the phone's key pad, exactly as you see it. Do not add any spaces. You will get a message that says "SIM Restriction Off," which means the phone is now unlocked.

Remove A Steering Wheel Lock

The Club is a car-theft prevention device designed to prevent thieves from driving the car. It's a steel bar that hooks around the inside of the steering wheel that prevents the wheel from being turned. It can, of course, be removed with the key that came with the device, but if that key is lost or damaged, the car owner is stranded until a locksmith arrives, and a professional removing the device can be expensive. Fortunately you can remove the device yourself. Keep in mind, though, that these methods will effectively destroy the device and you won't be able to use it again.

Instructions

Remove Lock with Screwdriver

1. Remove the Club with a flat-head screwdriver. The lock of the Club is not too sturdy. Insert a screwdriver into the lock and drive it further into the lock by banging on the handle with an hammer. This strips the gears of the lock cylinder.

2. Once the gears are sheared off, you can turn the lock with the screwdriver.

3. Once the lock is open, extend the steel rod and remove the device. This brute-force method is not guaranteed to work. If you have no luck with this method, try the Freon method.

Remove Lock with Freon

4. Remove the Club with freon. Buy a can of freon and attach the valve stem.

5. Spray the freon onto the slot of the Club's lock. This will ice over the lock. Be extremely careful not to touch the freon, as it is very harmful if it comes in contact with skin.

6. Using a hammer, tire iron or other blunt object, hit the frozen part of the lock. This will shatter the metal and you can remove the Club.

Connect Bluetooth To A Pc

An external Bluetooth dongle for PCs.

As of 2010, many of the newer laptops come with a built-in Bluetooth connection, which is accessible by clicking the function key and then F3. Unfortunately, many desktop PCs do not have Bluetooth connection, but there is an option to make them Bluetooth enabled. Once they are enabled by Bluetooth, you can connect to the Internet via Bluetooth, or accept and send files to external Bluetooth devices.

Instructions

1. Buy a USB dongle from a computer or electronic store. USB dongles are portable Bluetooth devices that work to convert your PC to a Bluetooth device.

2. Plug your USB dongle into the USB port located on your PC. Do not force it in or it will break.

3. Wait for the Bluetooth dongle to install. A dialogue box will open that reads "installing device software" or "installing driver software." When this box opens, do not click close. When the driver is finished installing, the box will automatically close or leave you the option to click the button "finish."

4. Install the driver located on the installation disc that came with the Bluetooth dongle. This step may not be necessary if your computer does not specifically ask for you it.

5. Switch the Bluetooth setting to "enabled" on the device that you want to connect your computer to via Bluetooth connection.

6. Open your start menu and go to "Control Panel." From here you will need to select "Network and Internet," then choose "Set up a Bluetooth-enabled device." A Bluetooth Devices window will open; from here click on "Add."

7. Select the option that reads, "My device is set up and ready to be found." Click the "Next " button.

8. Click the name of your Bluetooth device. If you've enabled Bluetooth on a cell phone, select the name of your cell phone from the device list. Keep in mind that any active Bluetooth in the area will be in this device list.

9. Supply a passkey when prompted; this can be the passkey that was provided in the Bluetooth dongle's documentation, or you will be given two additional options, which are to make up your own passkey or ask Windows to suggest a passkey. On your other connected device, you will be asked to enter the same passkey to establish a connection. Once you have selected the option you want, click "Next."

What Is An Rnc Nursing Degree

RNC indicates certification in a specific area of nursing.

The term RNC means "registered nurse, certified." It reflects certification in a specific area of clinical nursing.

Identification

A registered nurse (RN) typically must have a certain number of work hours and a designated number of continuing education hours in her specialty before taking the certification exam. After passing the exam, she may use the credential RNC after her name.

Types

A nurse may earn his certification in cardiovascular, medical-surgical, gerontological, pediatric, ambulatory care, pain management, perinatal, or psychiatric and mental health nursing.

Significance

It's important to differentiate between a nursing degree and nursing certification. A nursing degree such as a bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) reflects successful graduation from an academic program. Certification reflects expertise in a nursing specialty that's validated by an exam.

Considerations

An ADN graduate earns the designation RNC, while nurses with a BSN earn the designation RN-BC for the same specialties.

Potential

Many hospitals reward certified nurses financially by bonuses or a higher pay scale. According to All Nursing Schools, certified nurses earn $9,200 a year more than non-certified colleagues.

Use A Cell Phone As An Internet Modem

Can't find wireless hotspots everywhere you travel, or perhaps you just don't want to pay for an expensive Internet connection at home? Fortunately for you, it is possible to use a cell phone as an Internet modem, depending on your carrier and your phone's features. It may not be as fast as most high-speed connections, but it can give you a reliable connection for basic Internet use.

Instructions

1. Call your cell phone carrier or sign into your account online to see if you have a "phone-as-modem" feature installed on your phone and included in your plan. Some phones have the features installed, but it requires activation, while other phones may not have it at all. Also, using your phone as a modem can be expensive if it is not included at a flat rate you can afford with your plan, so make sure you know what you will be charged for this service.

2. Download and install any program necessary from your carrier in order to make the phone-as-modem feature work. Every carrier has a different program which can usually be found on their site. If you cannot find the site or get online to download the program, visit one of your carrier's locations and pick up a CD with the program so you can install it.

3. Explore your phone for any tools or setup areas called "phone-as-modem." Some phones do not have a specified mode that you have to turn on, but others do. If you do find this tool or setup feature, make sure to put the phone in modem mode when you are ready to use it. You will probably not receive calls, text messages, email notifications, or other forms of outside data while in modem mode.

4. Plug your phone into the computer using a cord provided by your carrier or which came with your phone. Make sure your phone is in modem mode, if it has one, and open any program your carrier has provided you with for this purpose. Once the program is open, it should detect your phone, and ask you if you would like to connect to the Internet with it. You may simply have to click an icon that represents the phone, and the connection will start automatically.

5. Disconnect from the Internet by using the program provided when you are finished using the connection. Make sure to do this before unplugging the phone from the computer.
