Unlock An Lg Cg225 Phone

Unlocking your LG phone will let you use it on any network.

The LG CG225 is a flip-top phone that is sold by the AT&T network and is small enough to fit into your pocket. If you bought the phone with a contract then it came locked. This means you will not be able to use a SIM (subscriber identity module) card from a different mobile carrier with it. If you want to switch to another service provider, you will need to get the phone unlocked.

Instructions

1. Get your IMEI number by typing in "*#06#." Write down the number that appears on your screen.

Most companies install locking software in their phones to prevent you from switching to another carrier, so the representative might not give you the code. If not, you will need to buy one.

3. Buy an unlock code from an online unlock service (see Resources). As of 2010, these cost about $25 per code. Once you have provided your payment details, the code will be sent to you via email.

4. Open up your email and retrieve the code. Write it down exactly as you see it.

5. Remove the battery and SIM card from your LG phone. Replace it with a SIM card from another carrier and turn the phone back on. You will get a message that says "Enter Subsidy Code."

6. Type in your unlock code and click the "OK" button. The phone will beep, blink and restart. Once it comes back on, you will see the new service provider's logo at the top of the screen. Your LG phone is now unlocked.

Is There A Flash Player For Phones

Many smartphones have access to Flash Player.

Many phone platforms have access to Adobe's Flash Player for watching Flash animations, playing games and navigating Flash websites. Not all phones have the ability to run Flash, and you need to download and install the player before running Flash applications on some devices. While these devices run Flash, performance limitations may cause some Flash content to display incorrectly or run slowly when compared to computer playback. Some phones, such as the iPhone, do not support Flash.

Android Phones

Adobe makes the Flash Player available as a free download for Android Phones via the Android Market. It will only operate on Android devices running version 2.2 of the operating system and newer. Compatible phones include the Droid line of devices, the Samsung Nexus, HTC Evo and LG Optimus. Flash runs as a part of the Android Web browser rather than as a separate application.

WebOS Phones

WebOS 2.0 introduced Flash to the operating system. Devices such as the Palm Pre 2 come with the Flash Player built in, working as a part of the system's Web browser. Adobe currently offers no way of installing Flash on phones that do not come equipped with the player pre-installed.

Windows Mobile Phones

Adobe offers a specialized version of the Flash Player for use on Windows Mobile and PocketPC smartphones. It runs on Windows Mobile 5 and newer as well as Pocket PC 2003. Compatible devices include HP's iPAQ PDAs, the Palm Treo, Startronics Superphone and HP Mobile Messenger. To install Flash on a Windows Mobile phone, download the installation CAB file from Adobe's website and run it directly on the mobile device. Note that the software does not function on Windows Phone 7 systems.

Incompatible Phones

As of early 2011, several smartphone platforms lack Flash support and have no official method of running Flash applications. iPhones have no Flash player, although Adobe does allow Flash developers to release Flash programs in iOS App form for separate release. Windows Phone 7 also lacks Flash, but Adobe has announced plans to release the Player for Microsoft's OS in the future. Adobe additionally plans a Flash Player for BlackBerry devices.

Manually Restore A Computer To Factory Settings

There is no factory reset button on a computer.

In the strictest sense of the term, there is no such thing as factory settings on a computer. What you have is an operating system installed by the computer seller, and the operating system has been configured to work with the hardware. Sometimes resellers also install other software programs as a bundle or include free or trial versions of software. You can reinstall the operating system and programs to be like it was when you first received the computer.

Instructions

1. Back up all of your data and other files you want to keep to a CD, flash drive or another computer on the network. Resetting your computer will cause the deletion of everything you saved on the computer.

2. Look for a restore program in the Start menu. Many computer manufacturers will install a backup program and with that program have a separate, sometimes even hidden, partition of your computer hard drive that has all of the software including the operating system. Using this restore program your computer will delete and reinstall everything on its own, usually taking a half an hour or more.

3. Reinstall your Windows CD. If your computer doesn't have a restore program with a partition containing your operating system, you may have a Windows CD that came with your computer. Insert your Windows CD in the drive and restart. Choose to install Windows and in the options to install choose to Format the computer during the install.

4. Reinstall any programs that came with your computer. If these programs aren't on a CD or part of the restore program, look on the manufacturer's website for the program.

Change the phone number of your Nokia TracFone cell by calling the company.

TracFone is a prepaid cell phone company that gives its customers the opportunity to have cell phone service without being strapped with contracts or high bills. They offer many different phones, including various Nokia models. TracFone uses many popular cell phone provider's towers, so there is coverage throughout most of the United States. If you move, and want to change the phone number for your Nokia TracFone, you will have to contact the company by phone. It isn't possible to change your phone number online.

4. Tell the representative that you want to change your phone number. Restore An M88 Phone

There are a couple of options available to you to try and restore your M88 mobile phone to working order, should you start to experience performance issues with it. The first option is a soft reset of the phone, which resets the phone without erasing any of your personal information, contacts or applications that you have on it. Instructions

Soft Reset

1. Locate the "Reset" button on the bottom of the phone. The "Reset" button is the smallest button on the bottom of the phone.

2. Press the tip of the stylus on the "Reset" button. The phone resets.

3. Wait for the phone to power on as it normally does, then test to see if the performance issues have resolved.

Hard Reset

4. Press and hold both the "Talk" and "End" buttons.

5. Locate the "Reset" button on the bottom of the device and, while continuing to hold "Talk" and "End," press the tip of the stylus on the "Reset" button. The "Reset" button is the smallest button on the bottom of the device.

6. Release the "Reset" button but continue holding the "Talk" and "End" buttons. When a warning message appears on the screen about a hard reset restoring the phone to factory settings, release "Talk" and "End."

7. Press the "Enter" button and the phone resets. After the phone powers on, test to see if the performance issues have resolved.

Why Nokia Phones Have Two Sim Card Holders

Nokia phones that feature two subscriber identity module card slots are designed to give users the option of assigning and using two phone numbers in association with the same phone. Known as dual-SIM or double-SIM phones, they can help save on long-distance calling charges if the phone is used in multiple states or countries.

Technology

As stamp-sized microchips, SIM cards contain vital personal information, such as your phone number, account number and name, which identifies the phone to your wireless service provider. SIM cards are compatible with Global System for Mobile Communications technology, typically used by T-Mobile and AT&T. Dual-SIM and double-SIM phones, such as those offered by Nokia, are only good for cellular calling and sending and receiving multimedia messages that support text, picture, video and voice content. SIM cards are also interchangeable with other mobile phones, making it possible to transfer contact information saved to the SIM card to another mobile phone.

Double vs. Dual SIM

A double-SIM phone, such as the Nokia C1-00, supports two SIM cards and two phone numbers, but you must switch between the two cards to use the desired phone number. Dual-SIM phones, such as the Nokia C2-00, allow you to place and receive calls and send and receive messages at the same time without needing to switch between cards. These types of phones are low-end models, however, offering only the basics of cellular technology.

Provider

Using a dual- or double-SIM card Nokia cellphone to its fullest requires activating both cards with your wireless service provider. If you plan to use the phone in your direct service area, the phone numbers will be in the same area code. However, if you intend to use the phone in multiple parts of the state or country for business purposes, your provider can assign phone numbers in different area codes. Because long-distance calling within the United States is largely irrelevant when using a mobile phone, these types of phones mostly benefit people using the same phone where there are long-distance fees for international calling.

Considerations

Although dual- and double-SIM Nokia phones offer some benefits, most of them lack the features commonly offered by mobile devices on the market at the time of publication, such as access to 3G and 4G wireless networks and navigational functionality. The Nokia C2-00, however, does come with a few of the high-end features offered by other mobile phones, such as a built-in digital camera and Web browser.

Remove Information From A Cellphone Sim Card

Many cell phones require a SIM card before they can do anything.

Many cell phones use a SIM card for identifying a customer's account. It is how the phone company identifies a plan with you, what the cell towers need to communicate with your device on GSM networks. Most information is stored on the phone hardware. However, some information can be stored directly to the SIM card. Such information would include contacts from your phone book and sometimes text messages or email information.

Instructions

Phone

1. Turn the phone on while the SIM card is installed in it. Many phones come with the ability to delete information from the SIM card.

2. Navigate to "Contact List" on the phone. Using the phones menu (consult your owners manual), set the list to show SIM card information. Delete all the contacts; this will remove them permanently from the SIM card. Switch the list to showing device contacts, if necessary, and navigate back to the phone's "Home Screen."

3. Navigate to text messages on the phone. Press the "Menu" key and go to "Options." Select the "SIM Card" folder and delete it. This will delete any text and mail messages on the SIM card. This option is not available on all phones.

SIM Manager

4. Slide the SIM card into a SIM card reader.

5. Connect the SIM card reader to a computer using the computer's smart card reader. This will mount the SIM card as a readable drive on the computer.

6. Download a SIM card management program such as SIM Card Editor or MSC SimManager. (See Resources for links.)

7. Open the downloaded SIM management software and erase all the information from the SIM card.

Unlock A Verizon Cell Phone Security Code

Verizon phones have a lock code for security purposes.

Verizon cellular phones all come with a security lock, preventing anyone without the code from accessing selected features. The user can set custom parameters for the security lock, from being required only to access security and privacy features to being needed to make an outgoing call. You can attempt to unlock your Verizon phone with two different codes. If they do not work, you'll have to take it to an authorized dealer.

Instructions

1. Access a feature on the phone that requires a security code, or go to "Settings" and "Tools" followed by "Security."

2. Enter the last four digits of your phone number. If the phone you're attempting to unlock is registered to that number, it will unlock. If not, try the code in Step 3.

3. Key in "1234" and press "OK." This is sometimes a factory default setting for unlocking a new phone. If neither of these codes work, you'll have to take it to a Verizon dealer and verify account information with them before unlocking and resetting the code for you.

Change The Face Plate On A Motorola Razr

Your Motorola Razr comes with a faceplate of its own, but after time you might grow a little bored with it and want to get a new one. Before attempting to change your old faceplate, make sure your new one will fit correctly. It can be a little difficult to remove the old faceplate and put on the new one the first time, but it gets easier once you've done it a few times.

Instructions

1. It is quite dangerous to keep your cell phone on during this process, so turn it off (you'll be taking out the battery anyway). Simply press and hold the red "End" button on the inside of the phone to turn your Razr off.

2. Start with the back cover. Press the small button on the back of your cell phone with a screwdriver or a ballpoint pen. This will allow the battery cover to come off. Then remove the battery; it should come right out with a little tug.

3. Unscrew the phone. With the battery compartment exposed, take out the two screws at the left and the right edge in the middle. Then wedge a credit card or a similar card into the opening between the lower half of the phone and the battery compartment. This will get the cover loose, but not all the way off. The cover is still connected to your phone's motherboard via a connector. Remove the connector with a pair or tweezers, then pull off the loose cover.

4. Use the screwdriver to unscrew the screws on the front of the phone. The front cover will then come off.

5. Apply the new covers. For the front cover, all you have to do is align the cover and screw the screws in. For the bottom you have to plug the motherboard in again and then screw on the back cover. Once all of the screws are in the cover, you can turn on your phone and start using it.

Find Phone Unlock Codes

If you have a phone that uses the Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card technology, you are usually bound to using your provider's service with only the phones they offer. Unlocking your phone can solve this binding problem. To unlock your phone, you will need a code that can be found from various sources.

Third Party Websites

Unlocking a phone can be an expensive task, however one available option is to use a third-party website. Third-party websites offer cell phone unlock codes that are often less than what a provider would charge to unlock a phone. The selection of unlock codes on these websites usually covers all of the major phone types, and some of the less popular ones, too. Once you have chosen your specified phone, you pay the fee that the website charges and then have the code emailed to you. Websites that provide unlock codes are Unlocking.com and GSMliberty.net.

Providers

Cell phone providers can also allow you to unlock your phone. Contact your provider and ask them to unlock your phone or provide the unlock code. You may be charged a fee for this service. This unlocking method is a reliable option if you do not want to deal with third parties.

Warnings

Unlocking a phone does not come without risks. Entering the wrong code can cause your phone to become inoperative. Some phones are also not guaranteed to work correctly after having been unlocked.

Send Gprs Settings To My Phone

Send GPRS Settings to My Phone

GPRS stands for General Packet Radio Service. It is packet-based wireless communication service designed for GSM cell phones. Almost all the cellular network providers these days offer GPRS services to users for accessing Internet on their cell phones. Even though most of the new cell phones these days support GPRS, you have to activate it first before you can start accessing the Internet on your phone. Activating the service is a fairly simple procedure.

Instructions

1. Contact the customer service department of your mobile phone service provider.

2. Speak to the technical support representative and tell him that you want to activate GPRS. Provide your username and tell the representative about your specific cell phone model. The customer service representative will then send you the GPRS settings through SMS.

3. Open the received SMS. The GPRS settings will then automatically update on your cell phone. There are some cell phone models for which you have to manually assign the settings. The detailed instructions will be provided to you by your network provider. For instance, on an AT&T phone, go to "Menu," "Internet Settings," then "Internet Profiles." According to the instructions particular to the phone and carrier, you might have to select a particular "Data Account" as well.

Upgrade The Memory For An Itouch

Memory cannot be added to an iTouch.

You already filled up your shiny new iTouch with all kinds of applications and music files, and now the memory is filling up! Can you add more memory capacity?

Specifications

The Apple iTouch comes with a flash memory drive. There are three different models based on the memory sizes---8GB, 32GB and 64GB. There are also some older versions that have a 16GB capacity.

Memory Expansion

Unfortunately, the iTouch does not have any type of memory expansion available. Unlike similar devices, on the iTouch, there is no option of adding an external memory card.

Alternatives

Since you cannot add any more memory to the iTouch, there are a couple of ways you can free up space. First, look through and see if there are any applications you do not use and delete them. Second, store all of your music on your computer and only put songs on your iTouch that you currently want to play.
