Problems With The Mercedes Bluetooth

Problems With the Mercedes Bluetooth

Mercedes Benz offers Bluetooth connectivity in many of its models to enable drivers to talk hands-free. The Mercedes Benz Mobile website lists all the phones that are compatible with Mercedes' Bluetooth technology (see Resources). Even though the Bluetooth feature is one of the many in the Mercedes line of automobiles, owners have been experiencing problems with the Bluetooth technology.

3G iPhone

According to BenzWorld, a technician's Mercedes Benz internal message board, a pairing problem occurred with the iPhone 3G on a 2006 Mercedes C-Class model with a cockpit management and data system (Comand APS). The Comand APS system controls radio, TV, DVD, GPS, Bluetooth and speakers.

HTC Touch

Many Mercedes owners have a Bluetooth car kit that recognizes HTC phones, yet the car kit does not pair with the phone. During the pairing process, the car kit gives a 16-digit pairing code, but the phone does not initiate entry of the code. This might be a "role switching" problem; when the car kit finds the phone, the phone sends a "role switch" request to the car kit that the car kit does not understand. Other causes might be that the phone cannot read the role switch rejection or that the phone does not complete the role switch.

PIN Unlock Enforced

As a Windows Mobile 6.5 update, if a personal identification number (PIN) unlock is enforced by security policies downloaded and managed from the Corporate Exchange Server, Mercedes Bluetooth users will experience a problem dialing out. For example, the HTC HD2 phone may be synced to the Corporate Exchange Server for calendar and task information, and many users have had to use a PIN to unlock the phone.

Hang Up An Icall

iCall runs on Windows-based computers as well as iPhones.

iCall software allows the user to make free or low-cost phone calls from or to a computer or Wi-Fi-enabled smartphone using Voice over Internet Protocol, or VoIP, technology. The service is free to download, but users who do not subscribe to a monthly calling plan have to listen to a short advertisement before they can make a call. The program's interface works in much the same way as a standard touch screen phone keypad, and calls are terminated as they are on any cell phone or VoIP-computer-based interface.

Instructions

1. Make or receive a phone call from your PC, laptop or mobile phone using the iCall application. To make a call, open the program, enter the number you want to dial and press "Place Call." Alternatively, answer an incoming call.

2. Complete your conversation.

3. Press the "End Call" button to hang up. The process is the same for both the PC and phone version of the software.

Unlock Samsung Phones Codes

When a cell phone comes locked to a particular GSM network, you have to unlock it if you ever want to use the phone with a carrier other than the one from which you purchased it. You can unlock phones using special unlocking software connected with the phone using a cable, but this method is slightly complicated. A better option involves "remote unlocking" your phone by paying a company to generate an unlock code for your particular handset. When you enter this code into the phone, you unlock your phone.

Instructions

1. Navigate to the website Hyfeno (see link in Resources section) and see whether your cell phone is included in the list of phones with free unlock codes. Scroll down the list, find your Samsung model, and note its unlock code. If you find your phone here, skip to Step 3.

If you don't find your phone listed on the website, see Step 2.

2. Purchase the unlock code from a pay site such as Unlocking, GSM liberty or Unlock All Cellular. Depending on your Samsung phone model, the code should cost you between $10 and $50, as of 2010. You will have to provide these websites with the phone's IMEI number, determined by typing "*#06#." After the website emails you the code, proceed to Step 3.

3. Power on the phone using a SIM card from a network provider currently not accepted by the phone, also known as an unaccepted SIM card.

4. Enter the unlock code obtained from the website when the Samsung phone prompts you for a password. If the phone doesn't ask for a password, type "#0111*CODE#." Your phone will unlock after it verifies the code.

What Happens If My Net10 Phone Says Unregistered Sim

Net10 is a prepaid wireless provider in the United States. It is a subsidiary of Tracphone, another prepaid wireless service. Both companies are mobile virtual network operators (MVNO), which means they operate over another carrier's towers -- AT&T Wireless in this case. The phones that work on Net10 use SIM cards to register the phone number to the phone for activation. There are a few reasons for the error "unregistered SIM" appearing on the Net10 device.

Unactivated SIM

The most common reason why a Net10 phone would say "unregistered SIM" is that the SIM card is not activated or was not activated properly. To fix this, simply go through the activation process again. By going to the Net10 website at www.net10.com, or calling 1-877-TEN-CENT with the phone's serial number, you can go through the activation process.

SIM has Expired

With Net10, the minutes expire and/or run out. When this happens, the phone will become deactivated. In this case, you must first purchase more minutes. Minutes can be purchased online, over the Net10 telephone number or in a retail outlet. Once the minutes are purchased, call 1-877-TEN-CENT to reactivate the phone and you will be able to use the phone immediately.

Broken SIM

The SIM card itself may be damaged. There are many ways that a SIM card can become damaged, either by an electrical surge in the phone or physical damage, such as being bent or cut. When this happens, it has to be replaced, and if phone numbers are stored on the SIM card, they are likely lost. A replacement SIM can be obtained by buying another Net10 device.

Defective Phone

If you have tried to reactivate your device, add minutes and have determined that the SIM card hasn't been damaged, the last option is to replace the handset itself. If the device is defective, you will be able to return it to the store where you purchased it. If it is out of the return period, call Net10 customer service at 1-877-TEN-CENT and they will be able to help you troubleshoot your defective device.

Use A Tv As A Computer Monitor

The worlds of computers and television are merging, so it makes sense to try to run your computer using your television as a monitor. Most standard definition televisions are not going to give you the visual quality of a computer monitor, but can be a suitable alternative or extra monitor. Scalable high definition TVs may actually provide an even better alternative to your computer monitor. Connecting your computer to your TV requires knowing what your computer is capable of running for video.

Instructions

1. Check the video outputs for your computer. Most computers have VGA outputs; some offer other options such as S-Video, or on high definition computers you might find DVI or HDMI.

2. Find the inputs on your television. Most older televisions have coaxial and maybe composite or S-Video inputs. Enhanced definition TVs and high definition TVs often have several inputs which are often VGA, DVI, component or HDMI.

3. Locate the necessary cable or adapter. If your computer and TV have the same output and input, then you just need the necessary cable. If not, you have to find an adapter. There isn't always a suitable adapter.

4. Connect the computer to the TV and test it out. You may find that the quality is poor compared to what you are used to on a computer monitor. TVs are designed with different specifications than computer monitors and many can only support a resolution of 640x480. Several high definition TVs support higher resolutions.

5. Look for a monitor that can support use for both a computer and television. It is increasingly common to have a monitor pull double duty as a television and computer screen. Many monitors have input options you can switch so you can have several peripherals plugged in to one monitor.

Unlock A Gsm Tracfone

Tracfone is a cellular service provider that offers service with no contracts, deposits or credit checks. Tracfone Wireless supplies service to millions of customers, according to the Tracfone website. If you purchase a GSM Tracfone from a low-cost retailer, the phone may be locked electronically to prevent use on other cellular networks. GSM Tracfones use SIM cards, an electronic card that can be unlocked for use on multiple networks by following a few important steps.

Instructions

1. Remove the back cover and battery from your GSM Tracfone. Write down the serial number printed on the back of the phone. Depending on the model, the serial number may be called an IMEI number and located on a sticker underneath the battery.

2. Locate the SIM card and write down the card number printed on the front of the SIM card. GSM Tracfones operate by using unique Subscriber Identity Module cards, or SIM cards, so make sure you write this number down correctly. Your phone cannot be unlocked if you provide an incorrect SIM number.

3. Call the Tracfone customer service hotline and ask to speak with a technical support professional. Technical support representatives are more familiar with the protocol for unlocking GMS Tracfones and can finish the process faster. To unlock your phone, the technician will need all of the information you wrote down and the make and model of the Tracfone.

4. Fill out a request to obtain a GSM unlocking code for your cellular Tracfone. According to GSM Security, an IMEI is a unique numerical code that identifies a specific phone being used on a mobile network. The technician will fill out the necessary paperwork and submit it for approval with an off-line group that monitors the IMEI numbers used on mobile networks.

5. Contact Tracfone customer service approximately 48 hours after your initial call and ask to speak to a technical support technician for faster service. The technical support representative will give you the unlocking code that was approved for your account by the off-line IMEI group. If your request was denied, ask the representative why your request was denied and obtain information on repealing the denial.

6. Turn the GSM Tracfone on by pushing the power button and a screen will immediately appear, requesting you enter the unlocking code in a box directly below the request code prompt. If the code is accepted, your GSM Tracfone is unlocked and ready for use on multiple cellular networks. Contact the Tracfone customer service hotline again if you have any problems unlocking your phone for service.

Motorola Razr V3r Phone Tools

The Motorola Phone Tools software allows Motorola phone users to connect their cell phones to their computers to access a range of features and back up important information. Installing and using Phone Tools with your Motorola RAZR V3R provides you with an additional way to make and receive phone calls, send and receive text messages, and back up data stored on your phone.

Phone Calls

You can make a phone call or receive a phone call on your computer if your RAZR is connected to your computer. You must have an external microphone to use this feature. It allows you to talk to family and friends without having to hold the phone while you talk. The program allows you to access your phonebook and select contacts on your computer without having to use your phone.

Text Messages

The "Messaging" feature in the program allows you to send and receive text messages. You can use your computer's keyboard to type messages rather than having to use your phone's keypad. You can, however, still only send a short message, which ranges from 130 to about 160 characters.

Contacts and Calendar

Synchronizing the contacts and calendar on your RAZR V3R with your computer provides you with a backup copy of all of your contacts and any appointments or dates booked on your calendar. If you ever lose your phone or break it, you can add the contacts saved on your computer onto your new phone and update the calendar with any information you had in your previous datebook. You may want to synchronize your phone often to ensure that your information stays up to date.

What Does Tcp Connection Failure Mean

If your TCP conenction is not set up properly, your computer will not be able to connect with your network.

Connecting to a computer network is key to career success for many people. Getting a message that the TCP --- Transmission Control Protocol --- has failed can leave computer users out of the communication loop.

Making the Connection

TCP, also known as TCP/IP, is used by networks to connect computers so information can be sent via a router. The IP, or Internet protocol, is the address. When the IP does not work, the TCP fails to send the information or connect to the router.

Correct the Address

Getting a message that the TCP connection has failed could indicate that the IP configuration being used is not correct or is set up improperly. Make sure the IP address is correct as part of the troubleshooting process.

Check the Router

The TCP connection failure message may also mean that the router you are using does not work or is not properly installed. This could be a problem with the setup between the computer and router --- check the connection wires.

Expert Insight

In certain older Mac operating systems, you may get this message because the computer will not recognize the TCP/IP. Older Macs only recognize the AppleTalk protocol.

Transfer Cell Phones Pictures To A Computer

Although this might be a wide subject but I will try to cover it as much as I could.

Instructions

1. It all depends on the type of cellphone you have. If you have a windows mobile phone, then you could simply just plug it in to the data cable provided and install Microsoft Active Sync. After that you can simply browse through the folders and find the picture files you are looking for.

2. If your phone accept an external memory card (Mini SD, Micro SD, TF, etc.) Then you could just change the storage location to this storage card, and later you can simply remove it from your phone and move the files to your computer/laptop with multi-card reader when applicable.

3. If you have a bluetooth enable phone, you could setup a pairing between your phone and your computer. If your computer/laptop have a bluetooth capability, then you are set to go, you can set up the pairing from the control panel menu. Otherwise, you might want to get an USB Bluetooth adapter from your local electronic store. It should cost you around $20-$30 depend on the brand. Make sure it's at least support Bluetooth 1.1 / 2.0

4. If your phone doesn't have bluetooth but have an IR transmitter, you might still be able to transfer it using IR. Older laptop usually have IR port and you should be able to beam your picture to your laptop. Otherwise, get an USB IR receiver from your local electronic store.

5. If none of the above applies to your phone, you might need to get a proprietary data cable and software provided by the cellphone maker. I use to do this on my old Nokia phone.

6. Since I personally use V3 before. I will go into depth for this type of phone. Although you can send picture from RAZR V3 using bluetooth, however if you prefer to use USB, you need to use their proprietary software in order to browse the file, the name of the file is "Mobile PhoneTools" (search on Google). A good reference site for this phone is drmoto.net, motox.info, xlr8.us/hofo. Those sites contains a lot of information and program to totally hack your V3 such as unlock, add new game and ring tone, add new menu, change signal light color, etc. The program I used a lot is called P2KMan.

Calculate The Number Of Packets Being Transmitted

Calculate the Number of Packets Being Transmitted

When your computer sends and receives data through the Internet, it uses a particular data format known as a packet. Packets are specifically optimized for Internet transfer, emphasizing small size and stability. Packets even have data built into them to check for errors. Windows makes it easy to track just how many packets you've sent and received in a given session through its preinstalled Network Connection monitor. The Network Connection monitor is available on all current versions of Windows.

Instructions

1. Close any programs that are actively downloading or uploading data, such as torrent streams or online videos.

2. Double-click on your Network Connection icon. It's located in the bottom right corner of the screen, beside the time. The icon look varies depending on the operating system, but if you hover over an icon in the area, a bubble will pop up telling you what it is. Once you double-click the correct icon, the Network Connection monitor will pop up.

3. Write down the current number of packets sent and received, which you will find in the "Activity" section of the Network Connection monitor. These numbers will increase as you browse the Internet and transmit files.

4. Perform the task for which you're interested in calculating the packet size. For instance, if you want to know how many packets are sent while streaming a video, watch the video now.

5. Return to the Network Connections monitor once the task is complete and write down the new number of packets sent and received.

6. Subtract the first set of numbers from the second. This will tell you how many packets were sent and received while you performed your specific task.

Unlock A Tata Phone

Unlock your Tata phone so that you can use it anywhere in the world.

Tata Docomo is a cellular service provider in India that uses the GSM platform. If you purchased a phone through Tata then chances are that it came locked. This means that if you wish to use the phone abroad that you will need to get it unlocked. Although this is perfectly legal to do you will need to complete your contract with Tata before doing so. In addition you will also have to purchase unlock codes for your SIM card.

Instructions

1. Search for an online store that sells unlock codes. A few that you can use are TradeUnlock, GSMLiberty and CellfServices (see resource links) As of 2010 codes cost between $15 to $35.

2. Retrieve your IMEI (international mobile equipment identification) codes by dialing in "*#06#" into your keypad. This will bring up a 15- to 17-digit code.

3. Go to the site you have chosen to purchase codes and enter your personal e-mail, phone manufacturer and model, and IMEI.

4. Check your e-mail from time to time. Providers will ask for a 0-72 hours wait time before the unlock code is delivered through e-mail.

5. Unlock your Tata phone. Replace the phone's SIM card with another from a different network provider. Once you turn on the phone, you will receive a prompt that says "Enter Special Code." Type in the unlock code and wait for a few seconds. The new SIM will be recognized by the phone, and the new network provider's logo will appear at the top of your phone screen.

Unlock A Phone Lock Code For A Sony Ericsson W350

Unlock a Phone Lock Code for a Sony Ericsson W350

Originally released in May of 2008, the Sony Ericsson W350 was sold by AT&T Wireless in the United States. The phone was discontinued and is no longer in production. The tri-band Global Systems for Mobile Communications (GSM) cellular telephone features Bluetooth, a 1.3-megapixel digital camera, a Web browser, messaging and a speakerphone. The Sony Ericsson W350 is also a fully functional MP3 music player. AT&T sold the Sony Ericsson W350 with a carrier lock that prevented using the phone with another cellular service provider's Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card. Instructions

1. Call AT&T wireless at 1-800-331-0500 or dial 611 from your cellular telephone and request the unlock code for your Sony Ericsson W350. If this is not the case, you can also purchase the unlock code from an online company that resells unlock codes. Provide your IMEI number (located in your battery compartment). Write down the unlock code.

2. Remove the back cover from your Sony Ericsson W350 and carefully lift the battery from the battery compartment. Under the battery, you will find the AT&T Wireless SIM card. Remove the SIM card. Replace the battery and back cover of the Sony Ericsson W350. Power on the cellular telephone.

3. Press the left arrow key on your Sony Ericsson W350 keypad and then press the "*" key two times. Press the left arrow key again. The message "Personalize with MNC2" will appear on the Sony Ericsson W350 display.

4. Enter the unlock code you wrote down in Step #1. Your Sony Ericsson W350 is now unlocked. You can now use your cell phone with any compatible GSM carrier's SIM card.

Pair Cell Phones

Pair Cell Phones

People pair (connect) mobile phones together for things such as music transfers, picture transfers and any other file transfers. Some people find that this is a much easier way to transfer information between phones without having to connect them together or use the PC as the platform to transfer the files from phone to phone. In addition to this, Bluetooth transfers are free and can be performed just about anywhere. Many of the newer phones are Bluetooth enabled.

Instructions

1. Make sure both phones are Bluetooth enabled or that they support Bluetooth adapters. In addition, both phones should be fully charged.

2. Turn both phones on and go into the Bluetooth section of the menu. Select "discover" mode and turn it on. Once the mode has been set to "on," the phones will automatically look for each other. When the signal to the phone has been picked up, the name of the phone or user name of the other phone will pull up. Select this device, then select the "pairing" or "affirmative" option.

3. Dial in the passkey or password when you are prompted to. This number is usually a four-digit number. If you have not created one, the manual to your phone will give you a generic number that you can enter. This may be 0000. Dial this number into the other phone as well. The two will then connect.

Use Wifi For A Cell Signal

Turn on Wi-Fi to get online and make phone calls.

As cell phones become more sophisticated and wireless networks more accessible, consumers gain a viable backup solution to mobile calling: Wi-Fi calls. Whenever you're out of range or inexplicably unable to get a solid cell phone signal, use your phone's Wi-Fi feature to connect to a network and make phone calls using the Internet. There are a variety of methods to make Wi-Fi calls but your phone must be equipped with Wi-Fi and in some cases, your carrier must allow Wi-Fi calling in order for it to work.

Instructions

1. Turn on your phone's Wi-Fi setting and connect to an available wireless network. Scroll through your phone's applications and tap "Wi-Fi Calling." Download the app from your phone's application store if it isn't already on your phone. Turn on Wi-Fi Calling when the application loads and wait for confirmation you are connected to make Wi-Fi calls. An icon displays in the status bar indicating the feature is active and your cell phone bars will become inactive. Make calls as you normally would.

2. Ensure you are connected to a wireless network and then download a VoIP application from your phone's application store. Enter your details in the applications on screen menu to create an account and then log into the VoIP application. Allow the application to access your contact list data, if prompted. Otherwise, you must type in the number of each person you want to call via the application interface, which becomes cumbersome.

3. Turn on your Wi-Fi antenna. Next, navigate to your phone's network settings and turn on the UMA option. UMA opens a connection through the Internet to your wireless carrier allowing you to make calls without the use of a cell phone signal. Your plan minutes and text message package is still used when using this option.

Get A Flashlight For A Mobile Phone

Use your mobile as a flashlight.

Mobile phones can perform numerous tasks over and above the purpose they were originally designed for --- to make phone calls. For instance, mobile phones allow you to browse the Internet, play games, watch videos, listen to music or use it as a navigation device. Some people use the mobile's light to find things in dark places. This is a good idea, since mobile phones are capable of providing enough light in low-light situations. However, the standard light emitted on mobile phones is not always adequate to find something in a really dark place.

Instructions

Mobile Software Flash Light

1. Find your mobile applications provider. Most modern mobiles provide an application as a means to obtain software for your phone. On Android phones this is called the "Market," on Nokia this is usually "Getjar" and for others it may be a different provider.

2. Search for "Flashlight" on the list of applications. There may be many flashlight applications available, including free and paid ones. The type of flashlight application may be a simple application providing different colored lights which are displayed when you choose them, or may be a simulation of a real flashlight or other light emitting object. Some of them will have more of a "fun" purpose than a practical one

3. Download and install the chosen application. If the application you have chosen does not seem to be very good or does not suit your purpose, simply uninstall it and try another one.

Make Your Cellphone Stop Roaming

Save money by disabling roaming on your cell phone when you're traveling abroad.

Roaming allows users of one cellphone carrier network to make phone calls or use data services on another network whilst abroad. This means you can continue to access email and the Internet with your cellphone when you leave the country for a vacation or foreign business trip. The overseas carrier network will charge you each time you access data on its network, and it's easy to ratchet up significant charges if your phone's email application or other online services access the Internet automatically. One way to keep control of data charges while you're overseas is to switch off automatic roaming on your cellphone before you leave the country.

Instructions

1. Tap the "Menu" application button on your cellphone's home screen, or press the "Menu" key on the keypad.

2. Select "Settings" from the main menu. On some makes of cellphone, you can tap or click "Settings" from the home screen.

3. Tap or click "Wireless and Networks," or just "Network" on some cellphones.

4. Tap or click "Mobile Networks."

5. Tap or click the check box beside "Data Roaming" to deselect and untick this option. On some makes of cellphone, move the slider from the "On" to the "Off" position.

Types Of Sim Cards In Cell Phones

Your cellphone cannot connect to a cellular provider without a SIM card installed.

A cellphone contains a Subscriber Identity Module card that stores the phone's mobile number, owner's name and account information connected to the phone. The card also stores the phone's serial number as well as any names and telephone numbers, known as contacts, that have been entered into the phone. The three types of SIM cards available for cellular phones are full, mini and micro.

Full-Size Card

Full-size SIM cards measure 85.60 millimeters long, 53.98 millimeters wide and have a depth of 0.76 millimeters. The cards look like a credit card and have metal contacts that transmit data from the card to your cellular phone at a rate of 5 megahertz. Full-size SIM cards slide into a slot on the side, bottom or inside of your phone.

Mini-size Card

Mini-size SIM cards measure 15 millimeters wide, 25 millimeters long and have a depth of 0.76 millimeters. A mini-size card contains one curved corner that helps guide it into a phone's SIM slot. The cards also contain metal contacts that interface with your phone for data transmission at a rate of 5 MHz. Mini-size cards may also be placed in a full-size card carrier for use in cell phones that require a full-size card.

Micro-size Card

Micro-size SIM cards, also known as 3FF cards, measure 15 millimeters long and 12 millimeters wide. The cards are the smallest of the three and also contain metal contacts for data transmission. Micro-size cards can work in phones that use full-size and mini-size SIM cards via a converter. Micro-size SIM cards also transmit data at a rate of 5 Mhz.

SIM Card Classes

SIM cards are divided into two classes: country-specific and international. Country-specific SIM cards only work in the country you purchased the phone in. International SIM cards work in multiple countries. Calling rates vary from country to country when using a international SIM. You can also purchase a prepaid international SIM card and use it if you travel outside of your home country on a frequent basis. Consult with your cellular service provider for information on the class of SIM card you phone is able to accept and use.

Repair A Nokia 5200 With No Signal

Sometimes you experience dropped calls or low sound quality during a call. This usually happens because of low signal strength or no signal at all, either at your end or the other party's end. Your Nokia 5200 displays signal strength at the top left of the phone display. When the phone is receiving good signals, the indicators increase in number. Similarly, they decrease as the signal quality deteriorates. If you're seeing no indicator at all, your operator is perhaps the best source of assistance. Nonetheless, there are a few things you can try on the phone as well to repair the issue.

Instructions

1. Try moving your Nokia 5200 slightly toward a window or an open space. If the no-signal problem is temporary, it should be resolved by this minor change in its placement.

2. Reset the phone. First, switch it off and remove the battery from the phone's back. After a few seconds, insert the battery again and replace the back cover. Then power it on again. In most cases, you should be able to get the network signal back.

3. Make sure your Nokia 5200 is running the latest software. See Nokia's "Software Update" page in the Resources section and find out if you have the latest firmware. If not, update it on your phone. According to Nokia, if the signal problem is with the handset itself, it should be resolved by updating the software.

4. Contact your network service provider by phone and tell them the problem. Sometimes signal problem is due to the network coverage, and if you're continuously experiencing low signal strength or no signal at all, your operator will tell you resolve the issue.

5. Take your phone to a Nokia Care point. You can find the closest Nokia Care point by visiting the link in the Resources section.

Improve A Bluetooth Connection

Improve the wireless reception of your Bluetooth equipment.

Bluetooth is a wireless connection used to hook up two different electronic devices together, such as a computer, cell phone or headset. However, like wireless networks the reception for Bluetooth equipment isn't always clear. In order to correct this issue there is a few methods you may use in order to improve the overall wireless connection of the Bluetooth equipment.

Instructions

1. Move the Bluetooth device closer to the equipment you are attempting to use it with. For example, if using a keyboard with a computer, move the keyboard closer to the computer to improve the Bluetooth connection.

2. Install a Bluetooth reception extender. This is for computer systems and connects directly into a USB port on the computer. Once installed you are able to receive the signal of Bluetooth equipment from often up to a mile away (depending on the strength of the reception extender.

3. Turn off other Bluetooth equipment you are not using the the computer, cell phone or other device. The reception from the different devices may reduce the accepted signal the equipment is able to receive.

4. Move the Bluetooth device away from other wireless devices. The wireless signal from the nearby equipment may interfere with the wireless signal the Bluetooth equipment is giving off, causing the computer to not accurately accept the Bluetooth signal being given off.

Connect Bluetooth Headphones To A Phone

Bluetooth is a wireless technology that allows devices to communicate via high-frequency radio signals. Bluetooth headphones are just one of the many devices designed to work with portable music devices as well as ordinary phones. With Bluetooth headphones, you can listen to music as well as make and receive calls--all from the same device. Connecting them is a snap.

Instructions

1. Turn on your cell phone. Enable Bluetooth by accessing your phone's general or network settings. Your phone will search for Bluetooth signals in the area--they are usually denoted by a small icon displayed on the screen. If you don't know turn on Bluetooth or aren't sure whether your phone supports Bluetooth technology, refer to your phone's user guide.

2. Turn on your Bluetooth headphones while near your cell phone. Turning on a Bluetooth-enabled device will usually put it in pairing mode, meaning it is actively searching for a device to connect to. Since your phone also is actively searching for a Bluetooth device, it should find it right away and prompt you to connect to it. It may ask for a password--refer to your headset's user manual for the default password and change it.

3. Test your connection. Once your headset is paired, the phone will usually start sending calls and audio to it without any additional configuration. Some phones may prompt you and ask which device to use. Try making calls and/or playing music. If you hear music from only one ear, your phone may not support stereo Bluetooth. If you don't hear anything, re-pair the headphones. Power off your phone and headphones, then turn them back on and repeat steps 1 and 2.

Troubleshoot A Nokia 7390

Power cycling the Nokia 7390 corrects the most common fuctioning issues.

The Nokia 7390 is a standard cell phone featuring basic mobile features. However, this model is supported only on European 3G networks and not programmed to function on any U.S. wireless networks. Like most mobile phones, the Nokia 7390 may have issues--including the inability to make or receive calls, and send or receive text messages--that prevent it from functioning properly. Try basic troubleshooting steps to correct these issues.

Instructions

1. Perform a complete power cycle by powering off your Nokia, waiting a full minute, then powering the device on again. This resets your service connections and allows the device to receive new signals from nearby towers.

2. Slide off the back cover and remove the battery while your Nokia remains powered on. Set your battery to the side. This is called a hard shock. Make note of your device's IMEI and SIM card numbers, if applicable, located beneath the battery.

3. Check for liquid damage. Locate the small, white circle under your Nokia's battery and the small, white rectangle on the battery. If any pink or red color is present instead of white, liquid damage has occurred and the device will not function properly, if at all. Leave the battery out for one minute before reinserting and powering on your Nokia.

4. Open the Nokia's main menu and select the "Settings" option. Verify that both "Call Forwarding" and "Airplane Mode" are deactivated. The "Reject All Calls" options should not be active. Select the "Reset to Factory Settings" option to change the Nokia's settings back to their original state without deleting any of your saved data, such as contacts, pictures, songs, games and applications.

5. Dial "611" from your phone to contact your provider's customer service department. Full account information is required for verification. Determine if your wireless service is active and that there are no current outages in your area. The representative will verify your IMEI and SIM numbers, and that features and provisions are programmed correctly with your wireless number.

6. Request to speak with a technical support agent. Technical support provides a more in-depth method of troubleshooting and has access to internal systems and methods to resolve many cell phone issues. These include performing a "Master Reset" that restores the phone to factory settings while erasing all data to remove anything that may be preventing your phone from functioning properly.

7. File a warranty or insurance claim. If your Nokia still functions incorrectly after troubleshooting, the device may need to be replaced. A warranty exchange is available if your device fails within the first 12 months of service. If your warranty is expired, file a wireless insurance claim to have your Nokia replaced. Without a warranty or wireless insurance, paying full price for a new device is the last option.

Besides video calling, the E65 also features a voice command function, a calendar, text messages, email, multimedia messages, Bluetooth capability, a digital camera and Web access. 3. Push the green "Call" button on the left side of the phone or slide the phone open to answer a video call. 4. Push the soft key below "Menu" and "Tools" to send a still image instead of a video to the caller. From the "Tools" options, select "Settings," "Call," "Image in video call" and "Use selected." A still image of your choice is sent to the caller instead of video.

Activate Gprs

General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) is a standard for wireless communications like cell phones that allows for high-speed transmission of data over GSM networks like T-Mobile and AT&T. You can browse the Internet if the wireless phone supports a Web browser and you have an active data plan from the wireless provider. Most new cell phone models as of 2010 support GPRS, so you just need to activate the phone through the carrier to activate GPRS. The activation process differs by network provider.

Instructions "Device Manager" or "Connections" > "Internet" > "Data Accounts" (the options might vary by phone).

4. Make a new account once you're inside the "Data Accounts" folder by selecting the option "Create New"/"New Account." A new screen will appear with blank fields for each network carrier detail. In each field, enter the details your carrier provided to you, including primary IP address, secondary IP address, APN name, data bearer, profile name, user name, bearer and homepage (see the link in Resources to get these settings for major carriers in the world). Scroll down after filling in each detail. Once you enter all the settings, press the "Save"/"OK" button.

5. Press the main "Menu" button, and go to "Browser"/"Internet." Then enter a website URL and press "OK." The GPRS should get working now.

Unlock Sim Card Codes

SIM cards can be locked with a PIN.

SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) cards are used to store sensitive subscriber information. A SIM card connects your GSM- or iDEN-based mobile phone to your carrier's network and can also store your important phone book contacts. You can lock your SIM card to protect it from unwanted use by setting a PIN. Multiple wrong entries of the SIM PIN will require you to enter a PIN Unlock Key, or PUK.

Instructions

1. Enter the default PIN on the "Enter PIN" screen--if the SIM has been locked, this message will appear as soon as the phone is powered on. (The default PIN is set by your carrier--it is often "1111" or "1234.") If you receive a "Code Invalid" message, proceed to Step 2.

2. Re-enter the default PIN and press "OK." Repeat. (Three incorrect entries will prompt you to enter a PUK.)

3. Contact your wireless carrier and request the PUK for your device. You'll need to verify your account details before the code is released. (Have your security code handy if your account is password-protected.)

4. Enter the PUK and press "OK."

5. Enter a new PIN of your choosing. (The code must be four to eight digits long.) Re-enter the PIN when prompted to confirm and press "OK." Your SIM is now unlocked.
